Simple, Green, Frugal Co-op: December 2011
http://simple-green-frugal-co-op.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, 31 December 2011. By Linda from The Witches Kitchen. Then we had drought years for a decade and though the creek never totally dried up, the swimming holes weren't quite so inviting. And kids grew up and life got busier and busier. Until, the other day, after mowing a bit too long in the heat, I decided I needed a dip and realised, it's years. Since I've done this. So these are my New Year's Resolutions. At least once this year, I will. Go skinny dipping in a mountain creek. Links to this post.

Monday, 4 May 2015. Simple living routines: morning and evening. Creative commons by Alondra Olivas. Routines serve us well when we use them as a framework to deal with the essentials of the day, week or month so that the remaining time is free for us to pursue our simple living activities and away from home work/activities. Household routines don’t. How long does a routine take? How long is a piece of string? Generally an hour to an hour and a half should allow for most daily routines. Try not to de...

Simple, Green, Frugal Co-op: One-Hour French Bread
http://simple-green-frugal-co-op.blogspot.com/2008/10/one-hour-french-bread.html
Wednesday, 15 October 2008. Sadge at Firesign Farm. From my blog: Aries was off today, and this afternoon said he'd cook spaghetti and meatballs for dinner tonight. We had just about everything ready to go. I had a big batch of meatballs and bell peppers in the freezer, jars of tomatoes, tomato sauce, and tomato paste from last summer's harvest, onions and garlic in the pantry, and lots of other veggies in the refrigerator. He also wanted garlic bread, so I said I'd make my One-Hour French Bread. I first...

AN URBAN PLOT: Scientist warns of dire consequences
http://anurbanplot.blogspot.com/2010/06/scientist-warns-of-dire-consequences.html
Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Scientist warns of dire consequences. Ignoring potential non-target detrimental side effects of any chemical, especially used as heavily as glyphosate (Monsanto's RoundUp herbicide), may have dire consequences for agriculture such as rendering soils infertile, crops non-productive, and plants less nutritious. To do so might well compromise not only agricultural sustainability, but also the health and well-being of animals and humans.". Read more on this warning here. Chronicles on...
AN URBAN PLOT: Change the World: Go Organic

Monday, June 14, 2010. Change the World: Go Organic. If you do just one thing to change the world, go organic.". Going organic is the single most critical (and most DOABLE) action we can take right now to stop our climate crisis. Every acre of ground that's farmed organically has the potential to pull thousands of pounds of warming greenhouse gases out of our air.". Organic farming is a real, attainable solution to our current global climate crisis! Gloria, Dakota Garden. June 14, 2010 at 7:03 PM. Incide...

Sunday, March 28, 2010. HazMat on the Farm. I found this image along with an article called How to Protect Yourself from 7 Food-System Threats. At Rodale.com. I guess what struck me the most, was this image! I just had to share it with you. Look at those hazardous materials suits. At first look, does it say farming to you? Thats why Im ...

Everyday ecology and parachuting down. National Coming Out Day. October 8, 2009. National coming out day. In honor of the upcoming National Coming Out Day. I want to disclose something that I feel a little bit embarrassed about. I know it’s nothing to be ashamed of, but our culture is so fond of heaping shame onto us for our personal choices that it’s hard to avoid accumulating some of it. Waste for your waste? You’re not really washing yourself, just sort of…smearing. It’s not a pl...Too luxe for me.

Everyday ecology and parachuting down. No Impact Week: Prep. October 17, 2009. I decided last week I would participate in the No Impact Week Experiment. I’ll keep a record of my adventures here, instead of using Ning (which I don’t like). Tomorrow is also the day when I’ll collect all the trash I produce for the day so I can figure out where I can cut back on my waste on Monday. From → ecology. Larr; First Storm. More Light →.
