Singapore Log: Is Singapore ready if bird flu breaks out here?
http://singaporelog.blogspot.com/2007/03/is-singapore-ready-if-bird-flu-breaks.html
Saturday, March 10, 2007. Is Singapore ready if bird flu breaks out here? I AM concerned about Singapore's readiness should avian flu break out here. While we had been successful in containing the Sars outbreak, there is no certainty that we will succeed with bird flu. From all indications, the only approved medication is Tamiflu. However, there have been various reports about death caused by taking this drug. What precautions are required for the sale and consumption of this drug? Kelvin Kwan Chee Hong.

Singapore Log: James' shooting wins it for Cavs
http://singaporelog.blogspot.com/2007/03/james-shooting-wins-it-for-cavs.html
Thursday, March 1, 2007. James' shooting wins it for Cavs. ONE big, back-breaking shot was not going to bail out the Cavaliers. So LeBron James made another. He dropped two crucial three-pointers in the last minute to help Cleveland beat New Orleans 97-89 in a National Basketball Association game on Tuesday. The Hornets' defensive strategy down the stretch was to force James to take the toughest shots possible. They were able to do that, but what they did not bank on was James making them anyway.

Saturday, March 3, 2007. Afghan opium output soars to record high. WASHINGTON - OPIUM production in Afghanistan surged to record levels last year, increasing the flow of heroin to Europe and the Middle East and undermining the fight against Islamist insurgents, the US reported on Thursday. Last year's harvest was valued at US$3.1 billion (S$4.7 billion) - nearly a third of Afghanistan's total national product, including both legal and illegal activities, it said, citing United Nations statistics. Krystal Jade: Conserve energy, raise thermostat to 25 deg C
http://krystal-jade.blogspot.com/2007/03/conserve-energy-raise-thermostat-to-25.html
Saturday, March 10, 2007. Conserve energy, raise thermostat to 25 deg C. I FIND the buildings in Singapore very cold - sometimes extremely so. Enter any cinema, hotel, office, etc, and one cannot help but to put on a jacket. Even parliamentarians need to put on jackets - just watch any parliament sitting. With global warming, every effort is needed to conserve energy. I suggest the temperature in our buildings be raised, following Japan's example, to 25 deg C. Helen Low Beng Lan (Ms).
