Julias Modelopolis: Reaching for the lasers
http://modelopolis.blogspot.com/2015/06/reaching-for-lasers.html
Sunday, 7 June 2015. Reaching for the lasers. Back from my hols for the time being. I thought it was worthwhile putting anther post together to show you all some of the stuff I have been upto. Firstly on Sunday 31st May I was in Bideford at the North Devon Model Railway Show once again. This time though I took along some of my bits and bobs to show the folk down there. It was a nice little show and the visitors all were nice and friendly. I even made it into the local newspaper there! 7 June 2015 at 20:24.

Nebs downunder modelling: Sturminster Newton - Landscaping - part 6
http://nebsdownundermodeling.blogspot.com/2015/04/sturminster-newton-landscaping-part-6.html
Journeys in modelling in N gauge. Sunday, 12 April 2015. Sturminster Newton - Landscaping - part 6. Well, one week of work down (admittedly it was only 4 days), and output has certainly dropped off! I was expecting this, but after the massive progress of the past several months, it is a bit deflating! This week I’ve managed UFO night, hold the monthly meeting (at short notice) and get in some fencing and gardening. I decided to use UFO night to work on the layout, in particular fencing. For what remainin...

Julias Modelopolis: September 2014
http://modelopolis.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, 28 September 2014. CNCing about Part 4. Sometimes you think you have figured something out and then it goes and does something else which leaves you baffled. These were modelled up in Inventor and the G Code was generated. I have decided to make them out of 0.5mm thick plasticard as it means I can glue them easily to each other and the wooden laser cut kit. Its also a bit easier to machine (or so I thought). Strange as the feedrate and the spindle speed haven't changed. Its time to have a rethink.

Nebs downunder modelling: Mail call
http://nebsdownundermodeling.blogspot.com/2015/03/mail-call.html
Journeys in modelling in N gauge. Friday, 27 March 2015. After much delay, they are finally here! The Farish 4F 0-6-0 all purpose do anything loco. I've been a bit selfish and have four, including one spilt form a box set. You can read the numerous reviews in the mags and blogs, and I agree it is the best so far in RTR steam locos, even better than the recently released Farish Duchess (and I've got two of them)! Team Fowler shunt team. Why so many, so ask? Lots of included detail. View my complete profile.

Basingstoke & Alton Light Model Railway N Gauge: November 2014
http://ngaugelightrailway.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Basingstoke and Alton Light Model Railway N Gauge. An N Gauge layout based on the Basingstoke and Alton Light Railway (1901 - 1936). Tuesday, 25 November 2014. Electric trolleys were used to move materials about the site. The only photographic evidence found is a rear view of a trolley in the movie shown on our Thornycroft page here. Alongside is the driver looking at the materials rack and wondering how he is going to lift off a heavy casting from such a great height! Saturday, 15 November 2014. It is r...

Julias Modelopolis: Diesel Days (with a bit of steam too)...
http://modelopolis.blogspot.com/2015/07/diesel-days-with-bit-of-steam-too.html
Friday, 24 July 2015. Diesel Days (with a bit of steam too). Since my last post I haven't been totally idle modelling wise although a few ' issues. Its a good feeling to know that once they have some decoders fitted there are two more usable engines, even more so there are two less engines on my ever increasing pile of ' to convert. Finally I must say a really BIG thanks once again to Steve T who has again done an absolute brilliant job with the weathering, the pictures do not do them justice. Ive seen t...

Julias Modelopolis: October 2012
http://modelopolis.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, 21 October 2012. I have decided to take a bit of a break from the layout. It was getting a bit frustrating and I wasnt doing as good a job with it as I could, that plus the fact I had to remind myself that its a hobby after all and it should be enjoyable! Refreshed with this in my head I have turned once again to my favorite side of the hobby which is designing and building engines. The latest one on my workbench right now is a little 0-4-0 Peckett saddle tank engine. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Julias Modelopolis: January 2015
http://modelopolis.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, 31 January 2015. I thought I would put a blog together for a couple of reasons. The first is a question if its ok? As you can see, I have attacked the lineside shed with the weathering powders and things to try and dirty it up a bit and hopefully make it a little more realistic which I have hopefully achieved. The problem now is the signal box looks a little bit too clean in comparison so my question is what do I do now? Sunday, 25 January 2015. I also was struggling to find any static grass or...
