It's a Good Thing You're Cute: Riding in a sauna
http://promisebaby.blogspot.com/2013/08/riding-in-sauna.html
Saturday, August 3, 2013. Riding in a sauna. S texted me when she got back from the show to see if I wanted to set up a lesson - so I went and rode this morning. I don't recommend riding in a sauna. My car said it was only 84*F when I finished, but it sure felt a lot hotter between the humidity and the heat index. Yuck. I know I know what to do and how (and so does S), I'm just rusty. I'm exhausted but feeling great. And, w. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Florida, United States. She Moved to Texas.

It's a Good Thing You're Cute: Lesson #2
http://promisebaby.blogspot.com/2014/10/lesson-2.html
Friday, October 10, 2014. This week's lesson was very similar to last week's. I did quite a bit of trotting and cantering around, and some ground poles at the trot and canter, as well. The main difference was she had me doing some strengthening stuff at the trot.like down-down-up (DDU) posting or up-up-down (UUD) posting. Ouch! I saw this on Facebook this morning, and it's pretty accurate, other than the cowboy hat:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Florida, United States. View my complete profile.

It's a Good Thing You're Cute: Thursdays in October
http://promisebaby.blogspot.com/2014/09/thursdays-in-october.html
Thursday, September 25, 2014. It's been a crazy-busy couple of months. In August, I went to the NC mountains to celebrate my 30th birthday with friends and family. We rented a cabin and stayed there for 8 days. It was drizzly most of the time, but not enough to prevent us from going out and exploring, enjoying the scenery, etc. I really love it up there, no matter what the weather! It took me a few seconds to go through the range of emotions, but once I muddled through the shock, I said yes! An Image of ...

It's a Good Thing You're Cute: First lesson in over a year
http://promisebaby.blogspot.com/2014/10/first-lesson-in-over-year.html
Monday, October 6, 2014. First lesson in over a year. Last Thursday, I busted my butt all day at work to be sure I could leave at 5 to head over to the barn for my lesson. (Leaving at 5 has not been the norm lately! I ran downstairs, changed and then headed that way and I was pleasantly surprised that it only took me about 45 minutes. The map said 35 minutes from my office, but you never know. Florida traffic is pretty bad. Anyway, L told me I could walk for a bit because she wanted me to canter in both ...

It's a Good Thing You're Cute: The saddle question (this might be a slight rant)
http://promisebaby.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-saddle-question-this-might-be.html
Tuesday, August 13, 2013. The saddle question (this might be a slight rant). For my first lesson with S, back in April/May, I did not bring my saddle with me. I assumed that she would provide one, because that had always been my experience before: ride a "school" horse, use a "school" (or the owner's, etc) saddle. She immediately asked me if I had a saddle. I said yes, but had not brought it. So, she provided something. This is not *my* saddle, but this is what I have. And she told me again that it doesn...

It's a Good Thing You're Cute: Imagine that...
http://promisebaby.blogspot.com/2015/06/imagine-that.html
Friday, June 19, 2015. If I don't subconsciously drop my eye at the base of the jump, I get a pretty consistent distance, every time. Last night, C was out of town, so my new lesson partner and I rode with A, who was just hired by L, as a slightly more advanced instructor. The point was to take poles and/or jumps in stride, instead of worrying so much about finding the right distance. If the pace is consistent, this happens naturally. Moral of the story: Don't look down! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

It's a Good Thing You're Cute: Happy New Year! (A few weeks late:))
http://promisebaby.blogspot.com/2015/01/happy-new-year-few-weeks-late.html
Thursday, January 22, 2015. A few weeks late:). I rang in the new year with a riding lesson on New Year's Eve and then playing games and watching movies with my mom and fiance. :). My lessons lately have been even more about pace and consistency. I've been trying to get AJ to open up his stride so that he is more back to front with more impulsion, instead of just flopping around and going faster, which requires basically a collected hand-gallop all the way to the bases of the jumps. So its come to my att...

Panic and the Pony: March 2014
http://panicandthepony.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Panic and the Pony. Monday, March 31, 2014. Loading Licorice into the trailer - Check. Riding at a different arena without dying - Check. Riding an actual dressage test - Check. Taking pictures - Not even one! Licorice was reluctant and it was POURING rain. But I have a very patient trainer and I stood in the trailer coaxing Licorice in, while she stood outside asking him to move forward and keeping him somewhat straight. Then he shoved me into the wall and spun around, trying to get out. I was able ...
