Making Tempeh | silverbeet
https://silverbeet.wordpress.com/2010/04/26/making-tempeh
Small things that matter. Food Chain: sustainability, ethics, agriculture. April 26, 2010 by silverbeet. I haven’t tasted the tempeh yet, but it does smell very, very good. Sort of nutty and mushroomy and beany. I sourced the starter fungus. From Margaret River Tempeh. The hardest thing with tempeh is to set up a suitable incubating environment, if you don’t live in a tropical country! Free airflow is important, but the environment shouldn’t dry out the beans. The fungus grows well at 30. Then back into ...

Sometimes all the stars align | Emily Drinking Tea
https://emnomnom.wordpress.com/2011/10/11/sometimes-all-the-stars-align
Free food from nature: Apple-cheddar pie. October 11, 2011 · 9:15 am. Sometimes all the stars align. Yesterday afternoon, after shaping a batch of bagels in the morning, I had a good amount of revived starter left over, with a bit of rye flour thrown in for flavour and colour. After 30 hours out of the fridge it was looking even more boisterous, full of those gluten strings, and just asking to be made into a loaf of bread. I hadn’t made anything yet from Dan Lepard’s Short and Sweet. Way too much about t...

Sport Psychology and Coaching: April 2013
http://stuartholliday.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Sport Psychology and Coaching. Sport Psychology and Training advice for runners and athletes. Wednesday, 24 April 2013. So you want to run a marathon? Caveat: This post is aimed at people who have never run or have run a bit. This could be you! I spent some time this year watching the London marathon. The fact Mo Farah was competing up to half way and a lot of people I knew were running, forced me to switch on. Because if you do go on this journey, it ain't going to be easy. If you see it through, it...

Ilikevegetables: June 2012
http://ilikevegetablesmuchly.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, 23 June 2012. After a lenghty flight home, we arrived back safely. Our dogs and other animals had all been beautifully looked after, we were so pleased to see them and the welcome we got was ecstatic, which was lovely. Salads I made today. Monday, 18 June 2012. Today we head off, back home. Very mixed feelings, a little bit sad about going, looking forward to seeing all the animals again. It will be nice to have the kitchen back, all the spices and recipes I like to create using lots of...After...

Ilikevegetables: Banoffee Pie.
http://ilikevegetablesmuchly.blogspot.com/2012/07/banoffee-pie.html
Wednesday, 25 July 2012. I have a sister who makes the best Banoffee Pie. I was thinking about her a few days ago and decided to try and make one, it is terribly indulgent, rich and just downright naughty but equally delicious. It has four main elements. A biscuit base. followed with a layer of caramel ( the offee bit, as in toffee), then sliced banana , topped with whipped cream. I grated some chocolate on the top, just to make it extra bad. Luckily there were lots of people to share it with.

Ilikevegetables: Loads of oranges.
http://ilikevegetablesmuchly.blogspot.com/2012/07/loads-of-oranges.html
Thursday, 19 July 2012. One of our orange trees. A few days ago I made some date and orange muffins. Partly because I desired something naughty but also because we have six trees laden with delicous oranges. Sweet and juicy. Unsullied by sprays and picked fresh. Each year we have to give bags away as we cannot eat then all. We juice, freeze, eat and use them in cooking. Maybe I should make some marmalade. They were good, I think I' ll do another batch tomorrow. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Ilikevegetables: Thursday.
http://ilikevegetablesmuchly.blogspot.com/2012/07/thursday.html
Wednesday, 25 July 2012. A little disappointed as I was supposed to receive two tickets to the premier of the local showing of "The Sapphires" for tonight.free. Never mind. So, I got busy in the kitchen instead. I made chocolate chip cookies, requested by certain members of the family. If it's going to be naughty at least I know what's gone into them. Then one of my top favourite salads. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Toffie and Zimmie helping themselves to guavas. View my complete profile.
