Living in Cambodia...: February 2010
http://michelles-in-cambodia.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 7, 2010. In the western world recycling. Is a very middle-class (supposedly) organised affair. Separate your glass from your paper, from you tins from your cardboard. Certain types of cardboard are not (you are told) suitable for recycling. Organised days of the week for cardboard and other recyclables. In Cambodia and also a great many other developing countries the whole thing is entirely different. In fact there is a "pecking order" for rubbish. In Cambodia is no middle class. 4 Then ...

Living in Cambodia...: March 2010
http://michelles-in-cambodia.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 10, 2010. An entry from this month's Police Blotter in the Phnom Penh Post. I especially love the last line! Thursday, March 4, 2010. But the more I know it the more I don't like Siem. Its full of people who just want to "do" the temples and get out of Cambodia ASAP and its soooo. B) the cakes from the Blue Pumpkin (c) the happy ranch horse centre - yeehaaa. And (d) a particular. So it has its ups. But there again I have not been in a large coach shipping Koreans left right and centre an...

Living in Cambodia...: January 2010
http://michelles-in-cambodia.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 30, 2010. After a while though I did discover that yes, they did know. but what did it matter? In Cambodia wearing pyjamas out is the done thing. They are a stylish outfit saved only for going out. Why would you wear them in bed? They are smart. its too hot. etc etc For them to be a practical purchase, the only place you can wear them is out. Besides how will people in general admire your latest PJ set if you are just wearing them to bed. What a WASTE! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Http:/...

Living in Cambodia...: Airport
http://michelles-in-cambodia.blogspot.com/2010/09/airport.html
Friday, September 24, 2010. Its not often that I cry in Cambodia. Yes, the dirty children and the land mine victims begging is distressing but after a period of time these become everyday scenes and you just get on with your life without such things playing on your mind too much (I guess it is just a survival. Thing - you can't change everything after all. However, today I was dropped off at the airport by a Cambodian - Canadian who escaped the Khmer Rouge. She now runs an NGO. When we arrived at Kuala L...

Living in Cambodia...: July 2010
http://michelles-in-cambodia.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 25, 2010. I'm planning a trip to Cambodia in September to catch up with people there and am thinking about another return trip to Siem. Reap I have a favourite tuk. Guy there - Sambo. I've just found his business card. I'd wholly recommend. Him if you are in Siem. And while I am on the subject - I'd also recommend. He usually hangs out in BKK. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
