No place like home. Knit, sew, garden create. Poppies that what we’ll do. Red as the field of poppies, when I saw this fab yarn I knew I had to have it. Posh Betsy DK is such a lovely yarn to knit with, it slides through your fingers. I slightly adapted Thea Colman’s Cape Cod and did three quarter sleeves instead of full. May 5, 2014. No place like home. Knit, sew, garden create. The wool came from Artifibers from San Francisco, sadly now closed. The mix of the yarn is mohair and silk and the weight makes it sit nicely on my shoulders. A lovely shawl which I wear a lot. 8220;Even with eyes protected by the green spectacles, Dorothy and her friends were at first dazzled by the brilliance of the wonderful city.”. January 26, 2014. Ruby Slippers | No place like home
https://theresnoplace.wordpress.com/2014/05/05/ruby-slippers
No place like home. Knit, sew, garden create. Well everyone needs a pair or two. I am still cursing the day I walked away from the most beautiful Ruby Slippers I have ever seen. I have searched high and low for a pair of these shoes seen and tried on in Russell and Bromley of all places. Still I now have a pair of something even better – Ruby Slipper socks. Comfy and for wearing around the house when I get home from work and I am home. May 5, 2014. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

https://josknitbits.wordpress.com/2009/05/11/they-took-a-while
Jo’s knit bits. The ramblings, progress and finished items of a yarn addict! They took a while…. But after being on the needles for 18 months I have finally finished the Waving lace socks. I really don’t know why I stalled out on these socks, the pattern and the yarn are beautiful and they fit perfectly. The yarn is Posh yarn Lucia. Laquo; Springing Forward. Random Acts of Kindness. Date : May 11, 2009. Well worth the wait Jo! I’ve tagged you on my blog if you get bored😉. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Laughing Yaffle: July 2010
http://laughingyaffle.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 7 July 2010. I've been suffering from a bad case of Blogger's Neglect. Truth is, I've been trying to avoid the internet! Well, not entirely of course. I mean I've been avoiding those sites like FaceTwit, Betsy, DoomTube, Rabblery, etc etc. - the ones that suck you in before spitting you out in an exhausted heap seven hours later, minus your self-esteem, entire day, sanity and money. So here's a brief snippet of what I've been doing instead (click for bigger). Try it, go on! Visit my yarn shop!

Laughing Yaffle: Round and around
http://laughingyaffle.blogspot.com/2012/04/round-and-around.html
Tuesday, 3 April 2012. This month's update is a very stripy one! It will be up on the website around 13th April. I've dyed up a few striped yarns in two- and three-colour varieties, including the purple and green one above. Although you can't have that one, it's mine ;-) The temptation was just too great! I'm having a go at knitting an afterthought or peasant (charming! Heel with this one, hence the row of odd-coloured yarn, which, I promise you, won't be present in your skein of stripes:. Yes am a bit p...

Circles Of Rain: February 2015
http://circles-of-rain.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 24 February 2015. A Weekend in the Country. We went to stay with our friend Phil in Northumberland this weekend. He took us to as many beautiful places as it was possible to fit in, fed us delicious food and took us to the pub where we met a very interesting collection of local people. Below are some of the places we saw. This is part of the woods he works in. We had just climbed up a very steep bank, (I nearly didn't manage it! And the sun came out, shining through the snow and trees. Next we w...

Circles Of Rain: January 2015

Friday, 23 January 2015. When I was taking photos he said he liked the signs too. I wonder what our neighbour will do with them. I might ask if I can have the piece from the front corner-the fairly small piece. It would be a nice souvenir of our street (if and when we ever leave! If I was them, I would preserve it somehow as a quirky feature on the front of the house that the shop will become. On this part of the sign you can see another layer underneath with gold lettering. Lovely! Tuesday is now a regu...
