some things looming: March 2012
http://somethingslooming.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 10, 2012. Nothing I love more than a good challenge, especially where looms are concerned. I love returning a loom to operational status, taking it from unused to working again. Recently, I've been challenged to help get the barn frame loom at the Daniel Boone Homestead. 2nd layer of dust removed. We filled a bucket with water and oil soap that is designed specifically for cleaning wood. We used barely. Damp sponges, carefully avoiding any metal parts, to remove any remaining grime. W...

some things looming: July 2012
http://somethingslooming.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 16, 2012. One of my favorite parts of my job is meeting the artists whose work adorns our gallery. Visiting with Meei-Ling Ng, the creator of the fabulous chicken that graced the front of refuse/re-seen's postcard, we learned about some of her other projects, in particular, her Deep Roots Outdoor installation. I said after she explained it to me. "I need to share this. Can I post it on our blog? I was completely fascinated by Meei-Ling Ng's "Chicken Tractor.". Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Pattern: Nouveau Earrings by Yarnplayer. Pattern: Flora Earrings (top) by Elizabeth's Lace. Simple Drop Earrings (bottom) by Elizabeth's Lace. Links to this post. This ...

some things looming: June 2013
http://somethingslooming.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 5, 2013. Diary of a Fiber Artist. I was thumbing through my sketchbook the other day, and realized it was a journal of sorts. Sure, it contains my ideas and thoughts for new projects. But I discovered, looking backward through the years, it's also where I put my instructions. Recipes for my dyes. Random drawings and doodles. Information about other artists, I didn't want to forget, or needed to scratch down for one purpose or another. And a history of my children's drawings.

some things looming: August 2012
http://somethingslooming.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 15, 2012. This summer I accompanied my son on a trip to Lima, Peru. We worked in schools, did dramas in the street, and spread Love everywhere we went. Cleaning the library. Yes, they dusted EVERY text book and shelf. It wasn't a vacation. We weren't tourists. I was privileged to hang out with an amazing group of teenagers who just went the extra mile and gave themselves in service and ministry. I was truly blessed. This fountain you could play in. Drop Spindle en español? I asked in Sp...
