A re-appreciation of 80's vinyl. Is a theme by Andy Taylor. THE INNOCENTS - DIRECTLY FROM THE HEART. The Innocents were a new wave band that released only one self-titled album back in 1982. They were the opening act for Rick Springfield on his tour that year. They apparently disbanded shortly thereafter. This was another bargain bin discovery. Interesting side note: The band’s keyboardist, Tommy Newman, is now known as 12-time Academy Award nominated film composer Thomas Newman. Directly from the Heart.

I had never heard of Blue Zone (Blue Zone UK in the USA) before I picked up this 7-inch single in a bargain bin. I was delightfully surprised to discover that the lead singer of the band is actually Lisa Stansfield. Blue Zone only released one album before Stansfield departed for a solo career.
