http://musingsfairlightfarm.blogspot.com/2015/03/just-another-snowy-day.html
Musings from Fairlight Farm. Monday, March 02, 2015. Just Another Snowy Day. Carly and Tang checking for rats in the hay barn. Not to mention that she has not been very cooperative about it. She is thrilled that she finally. Has gotten on the list- after all these years- to get grain at night now too- the only way I can bribe her into the 'torture' chamber. By the way the eye looks much worse now. Ashley appears to be helping by pushing the sled, but actually. Tang inspects the leaning tower of hay feede...

The Ruralhood: Friends and Séances, Love and Regret
http://theruralhood.blogspot.com/2014/10/friends-and-seances-love-and-regret.html
Saturday, October 25, 2014. Friends and Séances, Love and Regret. As I walk back to Katie’s bedroom, I stop to stare at her brother’s vacant room. He’s out on a date with an older girl that I’m convinced stole him from me. My junior high crush is long gone, but not the memory of belting out, for him to hear, Loretta Lynn's. Song, You Ain’t Woman Enough to take my Man,. For whatever reason, I take the lead and call out to my friend asking if she is in the room and to say something if she is. One of th...

The Ruralhood: I blame the turkeys.
http://theruralhood.blogspot.com/2015/08/i-blame-turkeys.html
Thursday, August 6, 2015. I blame the turkeys. I'm the little girl, far right, in the photo. No fence separating us in this photo! Sorry for the grainy picture.). When I was a young child, my paternal grandparents (see header photo, bottom far right) were raising turkeys, probably. I was a child.). Turkeys were a different matter. One day we were visiting my grandparents and ended up outside the turkey pen, looking in through the wire. Bold, but not so beautiful, the turkeys moved closer to the wire fence.

Musings from Fairlight Farm: August 2014
http://musingsfairlightfarm.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Musings from Fairlight Farm. Wednesday, August 06, 2014. And summer is half over. The last time I posted was in April, and since then the typical summer things have transpired. I planted a garden and have harvested a few things, fought the bugs, and marveled at how big some of the squash plants are getting. My tomatoes are producing lots of green tomatoes, but some type of stink bug is sucking the juice out of them faster than they can ripen. Peppers, Tomatoes, Squash and Cabbage from the garden. A week ...

Musings from Fairlight Farm: Collie Pinwheel
http://musingsfairlightfarm.blogspot.com/2015/01/collie-pinwheel.html
Musings from Fairlight Farm. Wednesday, January 28, 2015. The Collie girls and I were tired after a busy day off (for me) so we took a break on the deck, and the girls crashed. Days off (mine) are such hard work for them! They can't nap seventy times a day when I'm there, as I have to be snoopervised constantly. Ashley says, who me? And we can't forget our little short Collie, Tang, who was hanging out in one of the deck chairs with us, also resting. Lastly one of our many gorgeous sunsets this winter.

The Ruralhood: Yesteryear and Sibs
http://theruralhood.blogspot.com/2014/04/yesteryear-and-sibs.html
Tuesday, April 29, 2014. My blog posts wouldn't be complete without a mention of my own siblings and a couple of photos. A long time ago, my dad and mother gifted me with…a little brother and sister, but not at the same time. (You thought I was going to say a puppy or pet chicken, didn't you? They were thoughtful folks. And I didn’t even have ask for their gift. First there was just me. I can't believe I found the picture of me and my rocking chair after I posted about the rocking chair. Yeah, the oldest...
