genji's corner: Summer Walk
http://genjiscorner.blogspot.com/2015/07/summer-walk.html
Sunday, July 19. A couple of weekends ago, it was unseasonably nice. So we took the kids for a walk in a local park. It wasn't a very long walk, maybe 30 min or so. But we were all pooped afterwards. But watch out for ticks. I actually picked this guy off me from my own yard. Sun Jul 19, 03:36:00 PM GMT-5. Looks like you had a lovely walk! Ticks are absolutely no fun and they are out in full force by us as well. Sun Jul 19, 04:03:00 PM GMT-5. They all look exhausted! Sun Jul 19, 06:31:00 PM GMT-5. So far...

genji's corner: More Black Dogs
http://genjiscorner.blogspot.com/2015/07/more-black-dogs.html
Wednesday, July 1. After the last crew of black dogs left, our next set of boarders were also all black dogs. Trust and Tacoma are littermates. They had just been off the track just a few weeks when they came to stay with us. The sisters were very cute and very smart. Trust: Hint, hint. Please take me on your run. I'm still in shape from the track. No, seriously. You're not leaving without me. Tacoma: Yes, yes, I see the rabbit. Now where's my kibble dinner? Wed Jul 01, 10:02:00 AM GMT-5. Crikey . I ...

Saturday, March 28. We are a two Subaru family again. Kris still has her Outback. And now we have a Forester. Quirky looking, but cute. The back is open, and the inside arranged. Now just need the testing crew. Release the hounds. We had four boarders with us, and they were quick to check things out. Kaiser and Thibault are the first two in. Their sister Leelu joins them. And Stanley finally came to see what's going on. The kids look forward to their first road trip in the Forester. Links to this post.

A Mixed Bag: 01/03/15 - 01/04/15
http://allsortsforallsorts.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
For one minute, walk outside, stand there, in silence, look up at the sky and contemplate how amazing life is. Maybe this is the answer . maybe not. A recent speaker at the WI gave me all sorts of hints about dealing with squirrels although his real interest was birds. Over a cup of tea I mentioned my frustration over the four-legged. In fact, one of the suggestions in the literature said the same thing. Chilli Powder! Apparently birds don’t mind the hot stuff but squirrels can’t stand it. There are four...

nickhereandnow: The curse
http://nickhereandnow.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-curse.html
Sorry for being me, I don't know how to be anyone else" - Spike Milligan. Thursday, 28 May 2015. I find it extraordinary in this day and age that there are still so many taboos about menstruation. It's just a natural bodily function - so why all the embarrassment and squeamishness? Religions of course are even more censorious and puritanical. Menstruating women are seen as unclean and impure. They may be forbidden to pray or perform religious rituals. They may be excluded from normal daily li...And from ...

Finding life hard?: I blame Mary Berry AND Paul Hollywood
http://liz-and-harvey.blogspot.com/2015/07/i-blame-mary-berry-and-paul-hollywood.html
The thoughts of me and my dog who used to be Harvey, but is now George, who is Harvey's great-great-great-great-nephew. Sunday, July 12, 2015. I blame Mary Berry AND Paul Hollywood. I should have twigged when the woman in the cake decorating shop looked at me blankly when I asked for acetate. 'It's what they recommend on the internet for chocolate lace,' I explained. I called him back and he told me Uncle had fallen in his living-room and was waiting for an ambulance. So instead of spending the afternoon...
