Block Fen Mepal CFPAS. Lakes 1, 2 and 3. Lakes 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. Saffron Walden Angling club have the rights to a pit on the edge of Mepal. The pit is reed lined, quite deep and has a line of reed across it about a third of the way aolng the lake. This lake is very popular with carp anglers as it allows night fishing, has fish to a good size and is relatively cheap to join. The lake also holds some nice tench, a large head of roach and some reasonable pike.

Block Fen Mepal CFPAS. Lakes 1, 2 and 3. Lakes 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. There are two lakes at block fen on the CFPAS ticket. Block Fen A is a fairly large, coloured, sandy bottomed lake that has a large head of carp, mainly around the 5-15lb mark. The fishing is generally quite easy and it can be considered a runs water. Because of the price and relative ease of the fishing, it does tend to get quite busy through the summer months and getting a swim can sometimes be a bit of a challenge.

Block Fen Mepal CFPAS. Lakes 1, 2 and 3. Lakes 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. Lakes 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 are part of the Woolpackfishery at Godmanchester, which is now 2 separate syndicates (accessed off Cow Lane). There are different syndicates available to suit different pockets and requirements, and the whole site is currently being upgraded (Apr 2011).

Block Fen Mepal CFPAS. Lakes 1, 2 and 3. Lakes 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. The Woolpack fishery has a long history in the carp fishing world, with numerous 20, 30 and 40lb carp having been caught over the years. The woolpack now consists of two separate syndicates, the Cow Lane syndicate and the Woolpack. The Woolpack syndicate is run by Rob Farrant and covers lakes 1, 2 and 3.
