Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Demopolis - Orange Beach, AL - Oct 23-28. Captain I hate snakes" saw his first snake while pumping out the boat. A 5 foot snake swam along side the boat with a 10 inch fish in his jaws! The captain sprayed him with the water hose. Good thing he didn't have the gas hose in his hand at that point! Saturday we covered 106 miles! We got the Pura Vida up on plane and cruised at 23mph. Even though we are still 116 miles from the Mobile Bay, the river is getting salty and we will star...

Saturday, January 31, 2015. Key West - Jan 21-30. Our weather has been sunny, but somewhat cool and very windy. So far, we have only had one day where we could take the dinghy out exploring. We have however put on many miles on our bikes riding around the island, checking out different beaches, getting groceries and even over the the next island, Stock Island to visit some fellow Loopers that are staying there. Sheli was thrilled to have Sue as a shopping partner! Randy and Steve hanging at the pool.

Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Kentucky Lake - Sept 28 - 29. Sunday morning we left Lake Barkley and crossed over to Kentucky Lake. We streamed a sermon from Woodhaven while traveling. Another beautiful day on the lake. After 40 miles we dropped the hook at a very nice anchorage, one mile past the Kentucky/Tennessee border. While in Kentucky we enjoyed local cuisine at KFC and buzzard balls (bite size chicken cordon blue) at Buzzard Rock Marina. The next morning we woke up surrounded by fog. How eerie!

Chesapeake City-Atlantic City - May 22-28. 5:30am on Saturday we left the dock along with 6 other boats to ride the out going tide and southern winds down the Delaware Bay to Cape May. It is important when transiting the Delaware Bay to have winds and current in the same direction. We traveled 61 miles and arrived at South Jersey Marina by noon. Saturday, August 1, 2015. Drummond Island-Cheyboygan - July 24-25. Short Story . Long Story . Short Story: We decided to take a day and head to Cheyboygan, MI to cruise the Chain of Lakes. Friday morning as we cruised to Drummond Island we stumbled across the specs on the Cheyboygan lock and realized the Pura Vida would fit! We couldn't pass that up! What fun to share this crazy side trip with Paul and Cindy! It sure looks small compared to the other 107 locks! I think I can! Snug as a bug in a rug!
