An Afternoon of Jazz with CoolBrass at the Free Man Cajun Cafe. July 16, 2015. Over the 4th of July weekend my CoolBrass Jazztet had the opportunity to play on Jack Allday’s Sunday Afternoon Jazz Series at the Free Man Cajun Cafe in Dallas. We unleashed several new arrangements of music by Dave Brubeck and Miles Davis, and the players were on fire, as always. We even sold some CDs! Thanks to all who came out! In May I was invited by David Tenerelli, Band Director of Scoggins Middle School (Frisco TX ISD, located in McKinney) to come and work with his wonderful band on. A Barnhouse publication based upon a piece I wrote for the Dallas Brass. It was a great experience, as the band really shined in their performance of the piece and were a lot of fun to work with! New Works at Hal Leonard. April 8, 2015. For many years I’ve enjoyed a relationship with Hal Leonard Corporation. With their inclusion of many of my original works and arrangements in their annual catalog. This year I had the opportunity to arrange two Jazz Ensemble works by Trombone Shorty. I’ve been a fan of his ever since his guest appearance in the Christmas Show episode of NBC Television’s Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. (This is a great episode if you’ve never seen it, btw!
