Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond: June 2010
http://strykerinvasion.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond. Wednesday, 23 June 2010. Day 4- Lake Garda. We spent our 4th day in Italy at Lake Garda. If you know my husband at all, you know that he is a lake man. So, we decided to spend the whole day touring the southern end of the lake. We started off our day in a town called Sirmione. Sirmione is located on a small peninsula at the southern end of the lake. When we crossed the drawbridge to enter the old town, we were greeted by Scagliera Castle. We left Sirmione and h...

Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond: Family Photo Shoot-Swap
http://strykerinvasion.blogspot.com/2011/07/family-photo-shoot-swap.html
Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond. Friday, 22 July 2011. I usually like to have our family picture taken for our annual Christmas card. But last year, I didn't know what to do, since my good friend (and amazing photographer) Christy, had moved back to the States. Well, when we were leaving our friends' wedding back in October, we drove right past the sweetest little walking bridge. I told Ethan as soon as I saw it that that is where we needed to have our family picture taken! 19 August 2011 at 1...

Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond: A Year of PWOC
http://strykerinvasion.blogspot.com/2011/09/year-of-pwoc.html
Stryker Invasion: Our Time Across the Pond. Friday, 2 September 2011. A Year of PWOC. One of the reasons that my blog did not stay up-to-date last year was because I served as the President for the PWOC (Protestant Women of the Chapel) at our base. It was a lot of responsibility, but it was incredibly fulfilling (and I pray, that it was glorifying to God). We were given a fabulous theme for the year which was "Shine in the Light of His Glory.". Complete with a chuck-wagon to serve the meal from. I wrote ...

Ethical Excogitations: John Oswalt on the legacy of the Enlightenment
http://ethicalexcogitations.blogspot.com/2012/06/john-oswalt-on-legacy-of-enlightenment.html
Teach me your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart to revere your name. - Psalm 86:11. Sunday, June 24, 2012. John Oswalt on the legacy of the Enlightenment. My mother-in-law just picked up John Oswalt’s The Bible Among the Myths. In the absence of these answers we fall back into the pursuit of survival, dominance, comfort, and pleasure. Stanford in Guyana: July 2009
http://stanfordinguyana.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 17, 2009. July 15, 2009. Of Caribbean airlines were vastly exceeded and Continental was consistently early. I am not sure why I tend to select anything but Continental when given the choice. They have fine on-time arrival rates, good service, comfortable seats, never seem to be full, play multiple free movies, and still serve food. I don’t travel to the southeast much anymore, but they have definitely moved up my list. We found this sign that could be a sound entry to the FAIL blog. Well, th...

Field Notes from the Republic: July 2013
http://fieldnotesfromtherepublic.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 22, 2013. Odds and Ends, Part 2. In my last post. I slapped together a bunch of random photos Id taken with the intent of blogging them. This is part two. Back to real posts soon, I promise. There are some very odd/oddly cool things about rural Texas. Or just Texas in general. From the same building, the Pork Hall of Honor! Sadly, this was a dead-end road, I think. This abandoned Walmart was the flagship abandoned store in a small town full of abandoned stores. I posted previously about the ...

Field Notes from the Republic: February 2015
http://fieldnotesfromtherepublic.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 2, 2015. Back in days only slightly more recent than "of yore", my family and our friends the Galaskas would go to Old Forge in the Adirondacks each year to see the leaves change, have a picnic, and generally enjoy each others' company. But that is the nature of childhood. The obvious, undeniable flaw in our foundation. Our understanding and appreciation are forever stumbling young children running after their older sibling, experience. That memory is a tree, solid and unified above the ...

http://youwithus.blogspot.com/2013/05/tree-cutting-2012.html
Tuesday, May 14, 2013. We had some extra help looking for our Christmas tree this year. Caleb was checking out the needle thickness. Lilly was mainly smiling and posing. Jelly Bean seems to be unable to look in the camera. Is this the one? All set to bring her home. (We actually picked a pretty horrible tree as detailed in our Christmas letter which I'll post soon.). Field Notes from the Republic: My (Half) Year in Books
http://fieldnotesfromtherepublic.blogspot.com/2015/07/my-half-year-in-books.html
Monday, July 6, 2015. My (Half) Year in Books. I usually wait until the end of the year to summarize everything I've read. But that's gotten to be a chore now that I'm reading a little more. While I'm not reading quite enough to justify a monthly list like my friend Joel. I am taking a cue from him (as usual) and breaking my yearly list up in halves. If nothing else, it adds another post to my long-neglected blog. January got the year off to a good pace, but mostly because it involved less dense reads.
