PC Franky Fact. His views on policing are lacking in tact. Tuesday, September 18, 2007. Watched the show. The truth was spoken. Will anything change? I'm green with envy as to where he's heading. Take care and watch out for bears. Links to this post. You might be a Copper if. Another classic I wish I'd penned myself. You might be a copper if. You have the bladder capacity of five people. You have ever restrained someone and it wasn't a sexual experience. You find humour in other peoples stupidity. You th...

The Paramedic's Diary: February 2013
http://theparamedicsdiary.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 19 February 2013. Getting back on the horse. I'm going to ease myself back into writing this blog; it's been a long time since I recorded patient-related events in detail, so forgive me if things start off a little slow. My first patient, an 80 year-old lady with a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI), asked me when I was going back to Scotland. She didn't ask me in a 'I am interested in whether you will be returning to your roots at some time in the future' kind of way, but more in a 'why don't yo...

Two weeks of fun in the sun is the aim,. To forget about work, yes I know. Its a pain. But what has become of the Twat in the hat? And Dick 1 and Dick 2, those 3 scheming rats. He's promoted. Yes he has moved on. Yes the same. She too has now gone. Poor old Dick 2. He can't take any more. Links to this post. The Girl Next Door.

The Paramedic's Diary: Four nights shifts and an egg and spoon race
http://theparamedicsdiary.blogspot.com/2014/07/four-nights-shifts-and-egg-and-spoon.html
Wednesday, 9 July 2014. Four nights shifts and an egg and spoon race. I'm very tired after this latest run of four. These nights seem to be getting longer and longer as we are continually hammered from the moment we sign on duty until we make our weak attempts to get home on time. Maybe so. Maybe they're right to be so unimpressed. Is an example of simplicity in brotherhood. It applies to doctors but doesn't apply to us. I love my job; I don't particularly love the way it runs. I want us to be strict...

The Paramedic's Diary: April 2014
http://theparamedicsdiary.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 22 April 2014. It has been more than a year since my last post and there have been many changes. I have changed, my job has changed and the profession has changed. Its simply not what it used to be. A change in my posting methodology is required; I need to write only that which is relevant and neutral while I am professionally bound to one or the other. This is the way of things these days. I still care deeply about my patients and I still love what I do (when I'm doing it properly) but I'm less...

The Paramedic's Diary: November 2012
http://theparamedicsdiary.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, 3 November 2012. During the years I have been writing this blog, I have been asked to add links so that others can advertise their services and products. I have also been sent hundreds of comments that look as if they are genuine but often contain links to commercial websites or products. This post was written as a heart-felt farewell to my dead son, so I find it a little insensitive that those of you with no more than a commercial interest in posting on my blog would choose. Leicester Mercury police blog: April 2010
http://leicestermercurypolice.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Leicester Mercury police blog. Friday, 23 April 2010. This is what happens when newspapers fail their readers. Someone in the office found this story on an Essex paper's website and e-mailed it around the newsroom today. Reprinted below, it's bewildering stuff and I think it says a lot about standards in some sections of my industry. Now, this is by no means a political blog and I apologise in advance because this post has nothing to do with Leicester or the police. It's known as 'churnalism'. PR compani...

Leicester Mercury police blog: February 2010
http://leicestermercurypolice.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Leicester Mercury police blog. Friday, 26 February 2010. Apologies, this is an elongated harumph. I just wrote up a short witness appeal from a police press release - and then asked myself why I'd bothered. Here's the release (from the force's website) in all its glory:. Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman’s bag was stolen as she shopped for food. The 71-year-old victim believes that her bag was taken from her trolley as she was shopping in the bread aisle. Two things struck me.

Leicester Mercury police blog: January 2010
http://leicestermercurypolice.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Leicester Mercury police blog. Friday, 15 January 2010. Walk on. I hope Rafa doesn't. I don't post things on Twitter too often. Today, I was moved to write the following. Oh Rafa. My dreams be very tossed and very blown.". Nope, nothing to do with the police or anything else this blog is concerned with. I just wanted to say it again. Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard are both injured and the club is in turmoil. Where are we going? Reading that back, it makes me sound wet. And a bit of a nut. I've not go...
