bloom and sew: Books & Blossom
http://bloomsew.blogspot.com/2015/05/books-blossom.html
Thursday, 7 May 2015. I've had a lovely and relaxing start to May.how about you? It began for me on Friday when I hosted a bookmaking workshop with 5 lovely ladies at Starfish Studios. The day passed all too quickly (as they do), when there is sewing, chatting and a little sunshine involved! The books samples for the day. There were still little differences added to make each book personal and unique. Some still had a few little finishing touches to add, but aren't they all so lovely? This quirky looking...
Starfish Studio: September 2012
http://starfishstudio.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 19 September 2012. A little ring of metal. This little metal ring has made me exceedingly happy today! It's a free machine embroidery foot which arrived in the post yesterday. When I first bought such a foot for my machine, the only one I could find to fit a Singer was this one. It's really hard to see what you're doing and I've never liked it very much. Disaster struck last week when the machine made a horrible sound and ground to a halt. I couldn't have done that with the old foot! It combin...

These are available to pick up from any venue in the village or can be downloaded from http:/ starfishstudio.orson2.com/pages/NEOS. Have a peek at two more studios –. Starfish Studio: June 2012
http://starfishstudio.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, 30 June 2012. If you follow Starfish Studio on Facebook you may have seen a photo of some felt leaves that I've been working on. I stitched onto them using metallic threads and added beads and stars, making each one different. They were then stitched onto this tree. The background is lightly quilted in an assortment of yellows and oranges and the tree was cut from a single piece of felt. It's finished off with red bias binding. Links to this post. Friday, 22 June 2012. The lack of vertical wall...
Starfish Studio: West Highland Way
http://starfishstudio.blogspot.com/2014/05/west-highland-way.html
Thursday, 29 May 2014. What an amazing, exhilarating experience this was - 96 miles from Milngavie (near Glasgow) to Fort William, through some of the most stunning scenery Scotland has to offer. I did the walk with my dad to raise funds for the PSP Association. Neither of us are exactly super-fit, muscle toned athletes, so it was always going to be a challenge! Dad is 72 and has a heart condition, so we just had to take it at a steady pace, plodding on whilst the younger, fitter walkers zoomed past!

Living and working by the sea in beautiful, rural Aberdeenshire. Flowers, veg and stormy weather. September 9, 2010 in Uncategorized. We had the most enjoyable day out on Sunday at the Dundee Flower and Food Festival. Having killed every house plant I’ve ever owned, and not done much better with the pots outside my front door (which contain more weeds than flowers), I do appreciate the skills of gardeners. Loving the woodlands section. Making candles in the bee tent. September 3, 2010 in Uncategorized.
Starfish Studio: May 2013
http://starfishstudio.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 14 May 2013. If you've ever heard the Radio Scotland travel reports during the winter months, you'll be familiar with the phrase, "The B974 Banchory to Fettercairn road is closed due to snow"! Yesterday, however, the sun was shining when I drove over this stunning route. Locally, this old military road is better known as the Cairn o'Mount. I've driven past this ruin many times, but this time I stopped to take a few photos of the building and the burn that runs close by. Links to this post. Starf...

Saturday, 26 July 2014. What's so great about Shetland? Having just spent a week exploring Shetland, I've totally fallen in love with the place. So, what was so great about it? Was it the wildlife. The way the weather changes every five minutes. Is it the fact that the roads were excellent, really quiet and with no pot holes? It's all of these things and more, but I think what I love the most is that life is lived the way it should be. I saw no graffiti and virtually no litter. And here's a wonderful way...

Living and working by the sea in beautiful, rural Aberdeenshire. Beauty and the Beast. October 26, 2010 in Uncategorized. What a great start to the week. I received the most delightful email from an American couple who had visited Starfish Studio whilst on holiday recently. My husband and I (from the Los Angeles, California area) visited your shop recently with our friends from Northampton and I want. Have a wonderful day. All the best from the both of us. The other sight that saddened me was this one.
