A friend of mine asked me “What is Steampunk and what’s with the goggles? There is no one answer to that question, but here is mine. Steampunk is an artistic genre that everything else is not. With shades of H.G. Wells and Jules Verne, it has been described as retro-futuristic, science fiction, neo-Victorian, 19th century industrial, and post-apocalyptic. Hard to imagine? As to the googles, it’s terribly bright outside.

Clay: The clay used for all hand-built and wheel-thrown works is stoneware produced by Armadillo Clay and Supply, Austin Texas. Clay used for cast pieces is Amaco #1 Porcelain Slip. All ceramic works are high temperature fired (Cone 5). Glazes: All glazes used are lead-free. The glazes used on functional pieces, which may be used for food or beverages, are commerically manufactured food-safe.
