THE HERITAGE and TOURIST RAILWAY INDUSTRY. The heritage and tourist rail industry in New Zealand comprises over 70 organisations covering a diverse range of activities from museum type organisations, collecting and conserving historic rail equipment, artefacts and archives, to rail operations primarily targeted at the tourist or leisure market. Members of FRONZ include:-. 2 Network Operators with their own Heritage line (longest 60 km). 5 Network Operators with no heritage line. 1 Street Tramway Operator.
