Group Project | Bloblet

It mightn’t always make sense. On this page, I’m going to track how my group has been going with our website – Chock-a-Block. Since I’m writing now, in May, I’m going to have to go back and re-cap everything that we’ve been over. Starting at the start. On March 12, so right at the start of everything (oh it feels like such a long time since then! Around March 24/25 the group as a whole decided that this might be a bit difficult, given that we’re all in Melbourne, and not overseas at the moment....We all ...

Random: You know you’ve got too many accounts when you post at the wrong blog whoops fortunately it was an old tester blog so no one reads it.]. I really don’t get the hype over the kindle. The site/blog is called Mashable.com. And it’s all about social media news. Recently they had an useful post for those paranoid about the swine flu outbreak, in an article entitled How to: Track Swine Flu Online. Speaking of the swine flu, one of my friend’s friends came up with a clever nickname for the swine f...

Looks like there are quite a few people who are not. With Googlebooks, or at least the direction they’re taking. I’m rather mixed about it myself. While I think it is a useful resource, I can imagine how some writers must feel about their hard work being made free for anyone to read on the net. And it looks like HarperCollins is jumping onto the comics bandwagon. 8217; so it will probably have some overlaps with the digital publishing subject. Responses to “Google dissent.”. It’s been awhile since I’ve posted about it, but Tofugu apparently conducted classes. At edufire.com on social marketing and how you can use it for your business, and by the looks of the class names, they mostly focused on twitter. Edufire.com. Interesting features include whiteboard, text chat, presentation mode (where teachers can give powerpoint presentations). Responses to “more on blogwatch”. Feed for this Entry. It mightn’t always make sense. A chain is only as strong as its. I think this saying is quite apt in light of the readings for this week. If the links on your page are either weak or non-existent, then the chain of communication (or web, as Rosen puts it) will be broken. Weak links (like those that direct you to pages that aren’t there, or types of files that won’t load) are severely detrimental to your web page, effectively rendering your page the weak link in the chain of communication. A new study has...

Siteseeing: The Onion →. May 26, 2009 · 5:08 am. Group project update #3. Over the last couple of days I’ve had a close look at the other sites, MelbinNoir. I really like the design of MelbinNoir. The red, black and white colour scheme works well, and there is a definite Friday-night, jazzy vibe to the whole thing which makes me think of music, entertainment, going out. I like the clickable calendar. Their content is well-organised on the homepage. Feature and the Your Say. Filed under Website project.

Group project update #3. June 8, 2009 · 8:30 am. Over the course of the semester I’ve been looking at the satirical news website The Onion. I’ve chosen this site because it’s one that I’ve visited on a semi-regular basis for several years. I’ve seen it evolve from a very low-budget, simplistic site to one that involves many forms of new media, including downloadable audio and video files and online streaming. Where words go to die? Background and history of The Onion. BuzzMachine founder Jeff Jarvis.

Easy as ABC | Bloblet

It mightn’t always make sense. Ominously, however, the ABC seem to be feeling that it may be necessary to start charging for content or make certain areas of their digital information password-only, and I agree with Knight when he implores the ABC to expand rather than contract its public offerings online. Otherwise the ABC’s ethos of being a publically owned channel is negated and their credibility is called into question. Gatewatching is evidently the way that the news world operates at the moment....

It mightn’t always make sense. This is a discussion of the blog that I’ve been watching, which is grammarblog.co.uk. I know, I know, it’s really uber-geeky to think that reading about the ire of others when it comes to grammar and punctuation might provide hours of fun, but hey – I accept it. I’m a nerd.
