I had been basking in the glow of getting more rest with Wren sleeping through the night the last week, I had been in awe of how much the babies are doing-Wren pulling herself up, River crawling so fast, both sitting and playing together and with me. I had been feeling so glad that all their teeth had made their way in (8 each! I had been feeling pretty cool actually, that my babies are so amazing, easy and happy. Was it that another tooth was coming?

Monday, January 18, 2010. We had the day off from school today for Martin Luther King Day and we got an extra bonus of a snow storm! Through out the day we got almost a foot of snow, I think. I was able to get the bird feeders out and filled prior to the storm, so we will be on the look out for appreciative birds. Stella and Jackson got to spend almost the entire day sledding together! They thought that was fantastic. Then it was off to the hill where they went down the in the saucer! They had so much fun.

Thursday, May 9, 2013. Spring on the Farm. The sun has been getting warmer and warmer, which means that we are airing out the house, spring cleaning like mad, and living outside as much as possible. Thursday, March 14, 2013. Today will be a good day. 2 and a half months! The babies are growing like sweet little weeds! River is over 10 lbs already and Wren is close behind with 9 lbs and they are a moving and a shaking! Wren is bound to be rolling over soon, she loves to kick her feet and flail her arms and when she's laying on her back she attempts back bends! I raked out the gardens the other day to find that many of the plants that I brought with me from the old farm were going to make it! After skimming off the cream (which I use to make butter or mascarpone, or some other lovely delicacy), the milk is heated to 91 degrees after adding a smidgen of citric acid and buttermilk. A few drops of vegetable based rennet, and the curd solidifies. Cutting the curd with a knife is one of those strangely satisfying things in life. A nice ball o' cheese!
