Lake Margaret pond was of course frozen but we did find 4 woodpecker species and pine siskins in the woods including good looks at a pileated woodpecker working on ash trees. Corner’s Corners pond was frozen but we saw ring-necked duck and hooded mergansers and a mink running on the ice. In cooperation with Cornell Labs, the cam in Manitouwadge. 400 km north of Sault Ste Marie) is now online. Tammy and Ben graciously allow us to watch their backyard visitors which include the ruffed grouse (video seen in link below).
