It all started in middle school, when Towson alumna Lora Brown volunteered with Hands Across America, making peanut butter sandwiches for the homeless of her New Jersey community. But then high school rolled around, and Brown lost interest in volunteering, only doing the volunteer work required to stay in the National Honors Society.
