There were a few patches here and there from some scattered small storms we had had, but nothing significant. This isn’t to say that winter hadn’t arrived. We checked into our Motel 6 in Auburn and went back out into town to pick up my race bib at the Auburn Running Company. I was up at 430, later than usual, but we were close and the start time had gotten pushed up from 6 to 630. I had a light breakfast of nuts and a banana, showered, and packed up for my day on the trails and we head out to the race start.
