Discovery Learning @ St Mary's. Sunday, 14 October 2012. We used chalk to draw pictures on the concrete. We had been reading Maori myths and legends. Some of us drew the sun that Maui and his brothers made go slowly. Sewing and Climbing Week 10. This week we had to solve lots of problems. We had to thread a needle with wool and make some stitches. Discovery Learning @ St Mary's. Monday, 27 May 2013. We worked together to try and complete the jigsaw puzzle. We spent all of Discovery Time to complete the puzzle. Tuesday, 21 May 2013. Bottle Tops and Bubbles. We made bubble pipes and then we were able to blow bubbles. When we constructed something we had to use bottle tops and tell someone what the bottle tops were for. We learnt a new word at Discovery Learning. It was selfish. Cameron was able to explain to other children what it meant.

Discovery Learning @ St Mary's. Sunday, 17 November 2013. We made boats and then we put them in the water to see if they would float. Some did and some didn't. There were lots of magazines on the table. We cut out pictures. Some of us made cards, some of us made books and some of us pasted them onto paper to make a picture. Wednesday, 13 March 2013. TAC's Triathlon by Shea McDonald. The races kicked off with the individual girl's race, then was followed by the individual boys. Both races had magnificent competitors, that showed fair sportmanship. They put all their efforts into their run, bike and swim. Luckily for St. Mary's Samantha Anderson got 1st place in the individual girl's race. All supporters were marvelous with their attitude, cheering on anybody, whether they were coming first or last. Discovery Learning @ St Mary's. Sunday, 25 November 2012. Mrs Holden, a Teacher Aide, asked her daughter, Joanie, to come to school with a hair dryer. They helped us to make pictures using crayons, an iron, a grater and a hair dryer. Sunday, 18 November 2012. There was a big block of clay. We had to try and get small bits off it. Making a piece of clay flat. Rolling out the clay. A bird nest and some eggs. Monday, 12 November 2012. We had to share the equipment. Wednesday, 7 November 2012. Term 4 week 3.

Discovery Learning @ St Mary's. Monday, 8 July 2013. Planks of wood, ladders and dismantling things. At Discovery Learning we used planks of wood and ladders. We were allowed to climb the ladders and climb onto the big tree. The teachers watched us and helped us. We had old tape recorders that we could take apart.
