Training is provided by the Ambulance Service and covers Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Why is it Important? How Can You Support Us? StART is a group of trained volunteers who live in the community and make themselves available to attend medical emergencies when requested by the ambulance service in response to 999 cal. We respond, prior to the arrival of the ambulance, to serious medical and other life threatening conditions, including cardiac arrests, heart attacks, chest pain, unconsciousness, breathing difficulties, severe bleeding and minor trauma.
