Rosie’s Walk was our book of the week which introduced some new words such as past, through, across ,around and over. We even took our lessons outside to see what these words really meant- an obstacle coarse also provided some challenges to determine the understanding of these type of words. This week the children have loved spending time in our DIY Store.The children have had plenty of time to explore, experiment and try out their ideas.Our aim this week was to guide the children to seek out specific pieces required to make a specific item (a robot) rather than to select and join items without necessarily planning or wishing to make anything. Being imaginative and creative is fun.

The children were very creative and made some wonderful hats which they were able to wear when they went to the Year 2 classroom with the PP children to watch the the Melbourne Cup horse race. Help develop body control and strength as well as hand-eye coordination,foot-eye coordination, and control of their larger muscles.Children also learn to track objects as they move, and judge distance when they roll, throw, hit and kick balls of different sizes.
