Cycling along the Canal du Midi was pleasant and relaxing perhaps a little boring even. We continued along the canal until the path became too small, the tree roots too big and the mud puddles too deep then we changed direction needing some variation, some excitement again. Cycling out of Amsterdam was very pretty, with the dedicated cycle paths taking us past house-boat marinas and through the ‘Amsterdam bos’ (bush). We cycled past Schiphol Airport, along the top of a dike. Schiphol is located on reclaimed land – 4.5 metres below sea-level. CAMPSITE: La Parage – Noordwijkerhout.
