The Morton Family: Back to Blue
http://clayandnat.blogspot.com/2015/02/back-to-blue.html
Friday, February 20, 2015. I had tried to get Clay to honk the horn as we drove down the street, but to my surprise they were all already in the house we were headed to! They had pulled off such a nice surprise shower for Ali and I! It conveniently worked out that we were coming the same time they had planned to shower Ali and Matt for their new baby boy, so they pulled off a double shower for us without us even knowing it! I should have more pictures from Ali to share soon! Enjoying the Small Things.

Because the box was so large and sturdy, I was able to cut out big holes in the side for access to the chute at different levels. If you look at the above...

putting smiles on faces :): it's spring...
http://readmrsd.blogspot.com/2012/03/its-spring.html
Putting smiles on faces :). A newly-minted children's librarian shares her adventures in the storytime room. Well, it was spring when I was reading these stories! We had a week and a half of very unusual weather for March in this part of the Midwest - several days we had temperatures in the 80's! This morning, however, it was less than 40. back to reality! I asked the children if they knew what season it was? What season brings all the flowers out? This book is more of a poem than it is a proper story, b...

The Quest Quotient: August 2010
http://thequestquotient.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 26, 2010. A Smörgåsbord, My Kingdom for a Smörgåsbord! I am a big believer in the Montessori method, and geek out like crazy whenever I "scout ahead" to research all the fun activities my son and I will get to do further down the road in our homeschooling adventure. I had been eagerly anticipating the sensorial chapter of our Montessori-inspired curriculum- who wouldn't want to experiment with textures and scents and colors and temperatures and sounds? Here's the thing: you can't. Homesc...

The Quest Quotient: May 2010
http://thequestquotient.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 31, 2010. The Hardest Button to Button. I sewed a button hole! OK, so it doesn't look all that great, but I didn't even know it was possible to sew a button hole by hand until two days ago (thank you, wikiHow)! OK, calming down now. As I mentioned earlier, one of the practical life exercises we'll be doing in our homeschool will be learning how to button, so Parker will need buttons (and button holes! Prince St,Cruz Bay,US Virgin Islands. Megan E. Prout. School's IN for summer! And then progr...

The Quest Quotient: March 2011
http://thequestquotient.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 13, 2011. Man, I am LOVING homeschooling a four-year-old! I knew all this and still I could not help feeling mind-numbingly bored during our homeschool sessions. Well,. It's a new dawn, it's a new day and I'm feeling good. Parker is fascinated by space right now. He loves learning about the planets; he loves creating rockets and flying them to the moon; he's half-terrified, half-enthralled by the fact that meteors exist. It warms my heart, seeing my son so in love with learning....Purchase ...

The Quest Quotient: April 2012
http://thequestquotient.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 3, 2012. Parker had his first T-ball game yesterday. He's been intense about T-ball; seriously. Excited, treating it with a gravity that he hasn't shown any other activity. I've had my heart in my throat these past several weeks as we've met his coaches, tried on his uniform and cleats and attended his first practices. He just seems to care. So very much. I think that, for Parker, there's an expectation about T-ball; that this. Is what bigger boys do. How hard do you push him to "get back ...

The Quest Quotient: Roll with It
http://thequestquotient.blogspot.com/2013/08/roll-with-it.html
Saturday, August 10, 2013. As he raced ahead of me. That sense of glee was still with us yesterday, at long last biking together again along the streets of our neighborhood. Was it worth trying to call either one while we stood there in the hot sunshine in front of a strange house? Deciding not, I locked Parker's bike to a street sign, helped him into the Burley (which his little brother was none too pleased about) and biked home. "Mommy, PLEASE try to e-void the big bumps! Watch out, mama! Question, wel...
