Adventures of a Subversive Reader

Adventures of a Subversive Reader. Squirm’s Book Reviews. The Great Library Tour. Australian Women Writers Challenge – 2014 Round Up. December 22, 2014. Australian Women Writers Challenge. But I was involved in writing round ups for the Australian Women Writers Challenge, so I felt really involved, even when I wasn’t reading or writing. Onto some lists . . . Brilliant ...

Adventures of a Subversive Reader. Squirm’s Book Reviews. The Great Library Tour. Way back in 2004, I started a post-graduate Education course in Primary Education. Before I’d even started, I’d visited the university bookshop to find books and information on teaching. And now, even though I’m on maternity leave, I’m still very interested in reading about education matters and philosophy (though my interests also include early childhood education now). Here’s some of my posts about Learning. Sorry, your b...

Finding Rainbows...: Moving out...

http://natfindingrainbows.blogspot.com/2012/11/moving-out.html

Wednesday, November 21, 2012. My baby moved out last week. Out of our room that is. I never had any of the other kids in our room. There wasn't any room! So its been really special to have our baby - probably our last baby - so nice and close. But the bassinet seems to me to be fairly small, and has fleece sides, and he often wiggles quite close to the edge, so we felt it would be safer for him to be in his cot. But its so far away - down the other end of the house! November 21, 2012 at 4:54 PM. I have s...

And then suddenly realised that I'd forgotten to do a title card for Christmas Day. Oops! Thankfully there were plenty of the chipboard numbers since they were supposed to cover 1-24 for the Advent Calender. I haven't de...

Surfing the reformation on a wave of religion-less Christianity. Surfing the reformation on a wave of religion-less Christianity. What the heck is this? Christianity is religion-less. It is not synonymous with church; it is so much more than an institution or any one grouping of people organized around particular doctrines or style of worship. Whatever your spiritual practice is, and whomever you practice with, remember, you are not alone. Who the heck is this? Denim Spirituality for Any Day of the Week.

Subversive Reader Makes Stuff | Sewing, crochet and other crafty stuff

Subversive Reader Makes Stuff. Sewing, crochet and other crafty stuff. Where’s Spot (Kids Clothes Week: Oct 2014). The plan for this outfit started with the shorts. I wanted to include the lift-the-flap feature which the Spot books are so well known for. The obvious place for these was the pockets and I decided to make them so they lifted up completely with text underneath. I used stash fabric for the shorts and fabric from an old pair of shorts of mine for the pockets. Sadly, I won’t finish the la...
