Sue Brown Printmaker

Sunday, 9 August 2015. Where do I get my inspiration and energy from, easily answered, teaching and research trips. I found myself teaching an enamel workshop last weekend at New Brewery Arts, Cirencester. It was suppose to be a basic level workshop,. But thanks to the high caliber creatives who took part. Some sophisticated samples were produced. We used very basic techniques, from sgraffito drawing into the dried, wet enamel,. Stamping and sifting techniques and lots of layering. Links to this post.

Sue Brown Printmaker: March 2015

http://suebrownprintmaker.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, 26 March 2015. LAST DAY OF TERM. The last Wednesday of the first 10 week printmaking course at the yard:ARTspace. Has arrived. The 3 classes have made beautiful work and for the last session experimental prints were bound into simple book forms. I like to gather the groups together to work on this step by step activity for the last class. There was lots of decorative paper envy, reflection on the past weeks work. Giggling, measuring and cutting, plus the odd rude word as. Links to this post.

http://suebrownprintmaker.blogspot.com/2015/07/preparation-is-all.html

Wednesday, 8 July 2015. This time next week I will have installed my work and work space into a tent in the middle of a field at Waterperry, Oxfordshire. Yes. Art in Action. Is now only a week away! Sue Brown Printmaker: MORE DRAWING, DRAWING, DRAWING

http://suebrownprintmaker.blogspot.com/2015/05/more-drawing-drawing-drawing.html

Tuesday, 19 May 2015. MORE DRAWING, DRAWING, DRAWING. Is hurtling towards me, it is July 16-19 and I am preparing for it now.even though it will be Cheltenham Open Studios. June 13-21 first.I hope you are jotting all these dates in your diary? I will be demonstrating in the Printmaking tent this year so I am drawing as much as I can. This idea seems to be extending into some enamel work I am experimenting with. Old photographs, partially enamelled steel that will rust. And firing rust into the enamel.

Individual jewellery, metalwork and greeting cards. Tuesday, 24 March 2015. I've enjoyed making prints and creating these 'inchies' so I've decided to mount some of them onto blocks and see if they are popular in the shop! The glazing really brings out the surfaces and they do look like mini ceramic tiles.I've only done these 4 so far but this may develop into a larger collection! Sunday, 1 March 2015. A different beach this Sunday - Porthkidney with striped rocks, holey rocks and brightly coloured rocks!

Chronicles of a mature learner. Monday, 4 May 2015. This is what I've been doing. The photographs are in the order I took them. As you can see, I enjoy working on more than one thing at a time. I planned a little dandelion triptych which I started by painting on to pelmet weight Vilene. I then filled it in with lots of machine embroidery. Colouring in with the sewing machine. Then I spent my 'birthday money' on a set of printing blocks from Colouricious. I have booked myself a place, what an opportunity!

Saturday, 22 February 2014. Be careful what you wish for.
