Writing, speaking, consulting. Sharing the news tip sheet. Thoughts on Family Councils. Top ten lessons from youth with autism. January 18, 2016. January 17, 2016. Well, oh my goodness, get out a box of Kleenex when you watch this video from the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation in Edmonton. My husband showed it to me in the waiting room of our son’s reading program. I had to explain to his reading teacher why I was sobbing when I picked him up. This story moved me deeply. And what if everybody goes.

postcards from holland: March 2005
http://hollandpostcards.blogspot.com/2005_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 31, 2005. How did I get here from there? I decide that I am not lost, so I park under a giant oak tree to watch the local happenings from afar. This place is not that unpleasant I think to myself. Holland does not look that much different than my hometown. I take a deep breath and edge forward, and decide this would not be a bad place to live. Born January 14, 2004. Received her gift of Eternal life February 18, 2005. After two liver transplants. My thoughts. In chronological order. Going the wrong way. September 22, 2012. December 1, 2012. This week, I had the absolute pleasure of heading up to Whistler for a couple of days with two of my oldest friends. After 16 days with only one day off, getting in a car, and heading toward a mountain with a coffee in my hand and an ill advised Cinnamon bun could not have been better. But, hunger won over fear, and we started back down in search of beer and food. Karen and I have traveled together a few times...

My thoughts. In chronological order. 2014: You Don’t Rhyme with Anything. January 1, 2014. March 25, 2014. New Years’ Eve 2013. Well first of all. 2013. You were a hell of a year. So thank you. But also, let’s move on shall we? I have one of those “this is going to be a great year” feelings about 2014. Per usual, I don’t actually enjoy resolutions. I feel like they are a joke. But then I make them anyways. So here’s what I want to work on this year. 2 Swimming. I just want to swim a lot. What I talk about.

Foodie suz travels and eats. County cork, ireland. English market, cork. We had no choice but to summon the mariachi band. In January we went to the west coast of Mexico. Mike’s dad and stepmom very generously gave us a week at their condo timeshare at Pacifica resort. This was my third time there. I loved it there because: a. nobody got sick, b. we signed up for the all inclusive buffet so I did not have to plan, grocery shop, cook or clean. Girl loves churros from buffet. My thoughts. In chronological order. March 25, 2014. March 25, 2014. Every morning, I wake up, and plod to the bathroom in our condo. And my cat Tuesday follows me. Not because she loves me. But simply because she is hungry and has been waiting for me to wake up so she can eat. I don’t pour her any food. I don’t need to. There has been food waiting for her the whole night. In two places actually. Our home is awash with cat food bowls. I don’t know anyone else who has this issue with their pet. ...Nd we c...

'Mom, why are people staring at us?' ~ Special needs disability parenting BLOOM
http://bloom-parentingkidswithdisabilities.blogspot.com/2014/11/mom-why-are-people-staring-at-us.html
Tuesday, November 4, 2014. Mom, why are people staring at us? It was a chilly Saturday morning as I drank coffee and thought about a family activity that would be fun for both of our girls. I decided that we’d spend the day like many other St. Albert families, so we headed out on an adventure to Servus Place Rec Centre. And then it started. 8220;Mom, why are people staring at us? 8221; asked Addison, 3, voicing the words in my head. Should I tell my younger daughter the truth? Do you have questions?
