That’s my style which I do enjoy. I wrote everyday life which is envied by a lot of people. Studying, travelling, and cooking are most ordinary basics and how come I never get bored with? It’s been four months here in Edinburgh and I feel like I’m not only studying Msc in TESOL, but also Msc in cooking. Robert Burns....

Ways to use blogs in language learning | Online Language Learning
https://languagelearningonline.wordpress.com/2011/02/10/ways-to-use-blogs-in-language-learning
Some thoughts on language learning and web 2.0. Ways to use blogs in language learning. I’ve been investigating different ways to use blogs for language learning. Here follow some uses identified by Campbell (2003) and Murray and Hourigan (2008):. 1) The tutor blog: for reading practice; provides links for further reading; gives class information, and links for self-study. ( Ruby’s OLL blog. Is a good example.). Campbell, A. (2003). Weblogs for Use with ESL Classes. The Internet TESL Journal. You are com...

Some thoughts on language learning and web 2.0. Some thoughts on wiki creation and assessment. Just came across this teacher-support site. Which lists a number of questions to be asked before using a wiki with your students. I think this provides a really useful framework to start thinking about how to construct the wiki. How do you envision using the wiki? Who will be able to see the wiki? Who will be able to edit the wiki? Who will be able to join the wiki? Who will have the ability to reset changes?

Some thoughts on language learning and web 2.0. 8220;with the blog you can take your time, whereas with face to face you have to think on the spot. Often by the time I worked out what I wanted to say in class the discussion had moved on or someone stole my idea.”. Interestingly, Miceli et al. also reported that, at the other end of the spectrum, ‘the four who made the fewest contributions to the blog were students who consistently participated actively in in-class discussion’. Some thoughts on language learning and web 2.0. Blogs and wikis: improving language fluency. I’ve read a couple of interesting studies this morning into how blogs and wikis can be used to improve writing fluency and learner motivation. So, it seems that wikis and blogs excel at providing an informal, student-centred environment in which students can focus on language fluency, self-expression, and collaborative learning, without the pressure of producing grammatically perfect text. AnswerGarden | Online Language Learning
https://languagelearningonline.wordpress.com/2011/02/10/answergarden
Some thoughts on language learning and web 2.0. Just came across this interesting Web 2.0 tool called AnswerGarden. You pose a question, and users’ answers appear as a word cloud underneath. The answers have to be quite short (max. 20 characters), so could be a good way to focus on eg adjectives, or for brainstorming an idea with your class? How would you use AnswerGarden in your classroom? Trackback ( 0 ). Comments ( 0 ). Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public).

Constructivism and CBL | Online Language Learning

Some thoughts on language learning and web 2.0. Gance highlights ‘four pedagogical components commonly associated with constructivism’:. A cognitively engaged learner who actively seeks to explore his or her environment for new information. A constructivist pedagogy often includes a hands-on, dialogic interaction with the learning environment. 3 Authentic, problem-solving tasks. A constructivist pedagogy often requires a learning context that creates a problem-solving situation that is authentic in nature.

Sunshine in Motion | Being Outside and Feeling Alive
Mental and Physical Health. Being Outside and Feeling Alive. August 16, 2015. By Sunshine in Motion. It’s kind of bizarre we do this really. We as human beings are capable of so much. Capable of learning amazing things, capable of going to marvelous places, capable of making each others lives better. Yet, we have all this shit running around in our heads that says we can’t or won’t be able to or we listen to some other negative tape that plays on a continuous loop. How do they stay in it for so long?

Sunshine in My House. Wednesday, November 17, 2010. I asked Jake to please set the table before dinner tonight. He was excited to help as normal. He gave everyone a napkin and a spoon and that is where things got interesting. As I am getting food on the plates I hear Jake say, "Here's your frickin fork! As he chucks the fork across the table at Nate. Wade and I both looked at each other in one of those "now what? He, he, he! So, next time you play in the sand at the beach you are playing in Parrot Poop!
