Dr Michael J G Peach, a brief history. Michael was born some years ago. In 2005. He attained a first-class. Honours degree (MSci) in Chemistry and Mathematics from the University of Durham. In early 2009. He attained a PhD in theoretical chemistry, also from Durham. He has worked as a post-doctoral researcher in Berlin with Prof Hardy Gross (now of the MPI Halle), and in the Department of Chemistry at Durham University, UK, with Prof David Tozer. Michael started his current post as a Lecturer in Chemistry.

Michael is currently module convenor and lecturer for several courses that form part of the Lancaster Chemistry degree programmes. In 2013/14, he taught the first year "Physical Foundations of Chemistry" module. For 2014/15, he will additionally be teaching the second year "Quantum Chemistry, Symmetry and Group theory" module. Additionally, there will be links to blog posts on research-led teaching, and a series of tutorials related to electronic structure theory, computing and best-practices.

The analogy with fiction-writing also brings us to another aspect of thesis-writing.
