About | Ein Jahr im Leben

https://suzanneingermany.wordpress.com/about

Ein Jahr im Leben. Right now I’m a senior at ABRHS but once I graduate I’ll be taking a gap year instead of heading off to college. I’m going from Massachusetts (d7910) to Bad Homburg v. d. H. in Hessen, Deutschland (d1820) for a year as a Rotary Youth Exchange student. Other than that, I like pina coladas and gettin’ caught in the rain. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Ein Jahr im Leben. Next Post →. April 8, 2009 · 4:09 am. I’m Suzanne, I’m going to Germany to be a Rotary Youth Exchange student, and here is my blog. I’m 17 now, and I am ever so far from being as cool as Christa or her bilingual super-toddler of a sister. I’m taking my sixth year of French this year, but I’m definitely not fluent. My writing is okay, but boi o boi, do I have some troubles communicatin’ in the verbal sense. Recently, I have been frantically researching Germany, land of germs. Just k...

Ein Jahr im Leben. August 1, 2009 · 3:12 am. Wowee, I have not said a darn thing in a while. But trust me, it is not because I’m not excited. It’s called the Humboldtschule. Third exciting thing: I found out my departure date. It’s tomorrow. Whoever knows me knows that I am a huge procrastinator. Something I am really going to work on in Germany because it is really messing with me! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Fill in your details below or click an icon to log in:.

Ein Jahr im Leben

Ein Jahr im Leben. Next Post →. April 13, 2009 · 12:38 am. I found out something really quite exciting yesterday. I got an email from. The youth exchange officer of my host Rotary club, which means I also found out the town I’ll be staying in! There are around 50,000 citizens of Bad Homburg! What a perfect size! I don’t even know if all of those would be appropriate for my age. So there might only be a couple possibilities out of those five. I don’t know! Next Post →. 2 responses to “. I’ve actuall...

Darcy in Argentina: For once and for all...

http://darcyinargentina.blogspot.com/2009/04/for-once-and-for-all.html

For once and for all. I'm writing with some exciting news from abroad. I recently received word from AFS Argentina. That they have reviewed your application and have accepted you into their Year Program Summer/Fall Departure. So this is it. Lots of feelings inside of me, not quite sure how I feel. But for better or for worse, it looks like I will be stepping onto a plane to Miami (and then on to Buenos Aires) in 113 days, on July 28. Wow (deep breath.). But now we must pack up every piece.

Darcy in Argentina: Waiting

http://darcyinargentina.blogspot.com/2009/02/waiting.html

Oooohhhgh. It's been five weeks. Five weeks and a day since I clicked "submit" on my full application. Five weeks exactly since I had my interview with my local AFS volunteers. Five weeks, and no official word of acceptance. yet! They said it would take 4-6 weeks to be accepted. (Then again, I've talked to some other people who told me that. well. it can end up being more like 6-8 weeks! For now, I'm content with chatting it up with my. Overall, I'm just. waiting. Darcy in Argentina: To Be Myself Completely

http://darcyinargentina.blogspot.com/2009/03/to-be-myself-completely.html

To Be Myself Completely. So lately, no news. Nothing! Hmmm I'm still kind of confused, but oh well, things are good. I really don't know how I feel about my exchange. Most outbounds I've talked to are a little nervous, but mostly just extremely extremely excited. But. I'm. really REALLY nervous. I tear up just thinking about leaving! I know it will be great, know it will be the most amazing experience ever, blah blah blah, and I. Excited, somewhere in there. But mostly just anxious and afraid. And to be ...

Milestone after milestone. Pre-application submitted. Full application submitted. Interview- check. And today, I attended my first AFS orientation! Darcy in Argentina: Official (official?) acceptance!

http://darcyinargentina.blogspot.com/2009/03/official-official-acceptance.html

I am more or less officially accepted into the Argentina year program. (with an emphasis on "more or less"). Today in the mail I received a gigantic hulky thing from AFS. In it were the following:. Two letters to me. A letter to my parents. A huge packet ("AFS-USA Guides and Orientations: The AFS Guide for Participants Going Abroad with AFS"). Another huge (but slightly thinner) packet (".The AFS Guide for Families of AFS Participants"). However, a slight disappointment:. Okay So it's not the. Subscribe ...

http://darcyinargentina.blogspot.com/2009/02/finally-some-sort-of-news.html

Finally, some sort of news. What a boring blog! Sorry about that. I've really got nothing to report. Believe me, I'll be screaming when I do :). So it's been six weeks (seven weeks on Sunday) since I submitted my app and had my interview. And I haven't heard. From AFS for about a month, so I was starting to. well, not. But just want some sort of contact and acknowledgment. And this contact came two days ago on February 25. My advisor emailed me the following message:. Please sign form 2 attached below.
