We pulled into Puerto Toro expecting to see some of the lights on at the pier but it was very, very dark so we anchored in the harbor and right behind us was a sailboat at anchor with no lights on, faintly looming in the dark. The road less travelled. Refrigeration replacement in 2010 - new. Original galley refrigeration configuration. Access opened from the front and the top. In 2010 we replaced our refrigeration system. The original system was an Alder-Barbour compressor driven by a 5HP DC motor and the drain on the batteries was significant and after 11 years of our ownership it was time for a new system. Original holding plates were against the outside toward the hull. Old boxes were cut out and removed. Windarra on the map.

The road less travelled. Saturday, April 11, 2015. We stayed at Rentahome. Just west of downtown. It offers rooms with small kitchenettes which are convenient for us to make some of our own meals. It is operated by Guido and Monica, both of whom speak some English. They also have laundry facilities, do it yourself or have it done. Mother - Daughter Reef Lookout Team. Always someone on the bow when we move around in a lagoon. Someone went aground in the pass when we were there even though they had a good lookout so you cannot be too vigilant. Returning from doing our first sevusevu. More adventures in extreme nursing. And it is a nice beach.

Savusavu was really on a logistics stop this time to clear into Fiji and reload before heading out to the Lau Group in a small and infrequent weather window (the southern Lau Group is straight into the prevailing southeast trade winds.). Are we there yet? Downwind to Savusavu through the Koro Sea. Reprovisioning in the market.

The men, ladies and children in their own circles,. Benjamin in his bula gear looking to escape to chase the dogs. Meanwhile the ladies keep weaving mats. For kids too . Speaking of sharing . Exodus had all the kid boats over for a sushi night after they caught a few tuna. And a serious game of Risk went on in Fluenta.
