Swalwell Postcards
http://www.swalwellonline.co.uk/swalwell_postcards.htm
The majority of these cards were contributed by Michael Gallagher. And are from his personal collection which were originally featured on his now closed Swalwell Village website. Some of these images are also re-coloured photographs by person(s) unknown. Of these cards were printed around the turn of the last century, by a local printer, A. A. Fletcher , and were some of the first hand-painted coloured cards of their kind. Large versions of some of these cards may be viewed HERE. Foot of Whickham Bank.

This website has now closed and this page will disappear for good very shortly. It is nearly 20 years since I have lived in Swalwell, so i'm not in the best position to update and comment on Swalwell anymore. I would like to thank everyone who has visited the site, added comments in the guestbook and sent me emails, for that reason it has continued since 1999. Michael Makepeace will keep a few pages alive at the only other dedicated Swalwell website. Thanks again for all the support.
