Monday, October 24. Milk and Cookies on the Farm Party. I am finally posting a few pics from Avery's birthday party. We did it this year at Wheeler Farm in Salt Lake, and it was a huge hit. Everyone loved the animals and there was enough things to do that I didn't have to plan any games. We had a milk and cookie buffet for refreshments. For party favors, the kids made their own special cookie mixes. I had all the dry ingredients in a jar and they added their own chocolate chips, m&m's, oats, etc. You can...

A Pretty Party Planner: May 2012
http://aprettypartyplanner.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
A Pretty Party Planner. Thursday, May 31, 2012. Pocket Full of Posies. So this pretty party was a shower for my friend Bethany and her first baby to be, Parker Gracen. I was really excited to do an outdoor, Spring-time shower and immediately got inspired by a party posted by Pen N' Paperflowers. Having a smaller budget, I found some easy diy ideas that turned out fantastic. This is actually an email-invite I designed on Punchbowl. This ribbon chandelier was an idea from Martha Stewart. These rain drops h...

Just another day in paradise...: First Grade!
http://ourfamilyparadise.blogspot.com/2015/07/first-grade.html
Just another day in paradise. Tuesday, July 28, 2015. This school year was amazing. We switched schools before first grade so we were unsure what it would be like. Em is also doing the Chinese Dual Immersion program where she spends half of her day hearing and speaking nothing but Chinese and the other half of her day in English. We were unsure how THAT would be! But Emily ended the year with 100% on every single spelling test the whole year! Her teachers use this behavior tracking app called "Class Dojo...

Just another day in paradise...: May 2014
http://ourfamilyparadise.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Just another day in paradise. Thursday, May 1, 2014. I'm getting complaints from grandmas about not updating this thing so I said I would do a photo dump of the kids. So here you go! This dates all the way back to Chase's birthday so.yeah. This girl. We had some rough times over the fall. Our pumpkins. L-R oldest to youngest. Our new piano. Well not new, actually extremely old but new to us! And brought a new toy! I mean seriously. I love this kid. A little light reading. After his first haricut! Simple ...

Just another day in paradise...: Preschool Graduation
http://ourfamilyparadise.blogspot.com/2015/07/preschool-graduation.html
Just another day in paradise. Saturday, July 18, 2015. Chase finished his second year of preschool and Carly finished her first year! They had a Pete the Cat theme for their graduation. So stinkin cute. This little girl is so in love with Chase. It's hilarious. I think she finally convinced him that he loves her too. :) She always talks about when they get married, when they have kids, etc. Too funny. These three blondies were in the same class and became friends. Cutie pies! So much fun this year!

Just another day in paradise...: September 2013
http://ourfamilyparadise.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Just another day in paradise. Friday, September 13, 2013. Summer is over. Yay! So I think I've said this 100 times but I really don't like summer. 1 It's hot. And this past summer now holds the record for the hottest summer ever for Utah. So when I say it's hot, it's hot. I don't enjoy being hot. If you do you should seek mental help because you are not normal. Nothing more miserable to me than being sweaty and gross. Go to the zoo. Hold your baby brother. Never comb your hair. Hold all kinds of snakes.

Just another day in paradise. Wednesday, May 27, 2015. A Day In The Life. I've been thinking a lot lately about how quickly this phase of our life is flying by. In a little over a year from now, there will be days when I have zero kids home with me! That just boggles my mind. I wanted to do a better job at documenting our day to day life because it's those little details that you forget. Alas, a typical day in the Cottrell house in spring 2015! 8:15 am-say prayers and leave to take Emily to school. 2:30 ...

Just another day in paradise...: June 2015
http://ourfamilyparadise.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Just another day in paradise. Thursday, June 25, 2015. This year Emily was on two different competition teams. A jazz team and a hip hop team. This was her first time ever doing hip hop. And she loved it! She asked me if she could quit her jazz team and just do hip hop. Haha.NO. But being on two comp teams made competitions even more work than they already were! She competed four dances at each competition. Feel Ur Beat-hip hop dance to this dang song that gets stuck in your head like no other. Such a fu...

Just another day in paradise...: Summer Reading
http://ourfamilyparadise.blogspot.com/2015/07/summer-reading.html
Just another day in paradise. Monday, July 13, 2015. Every summer we participate in the library's summer reading program and we are actually already finished with it for this summer. Well I have one more book to read but I'm waiting until tomorrow because I pre-ordered "Go Set A Watchman." I've never pre-ordered a book in my life! But I'm excited for it. Who am I? Where The Wild Things Are. The Monster at the End of This Book. The Paper Bag Princess. The Light in the Attic. Harold and the Purple Crayon.

Just another day in paradise...: January 2014
http://ourfamilyparadise.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Just another day in paradise. Wednesday, January 1, 2014. The Happiest Place on Earth! Okay, so about three months ago we surprised our kids with a trip to Disneyland! It was quite possibly the best trip we've ever been on. After we returned I had MANY. People ask a lot of questions about taking young kids and small babies to Disneyland. Was it hard? Were you actually able to do anything? Was it worth it? Plan ahead-kids take planning. Just a fact. I am a planner by nature but I really feel like ...Where...
