What are swing states? Swing states are selected parts of the US which don't really have single party or candidate preferences. Also called battleground states, these areas are the main target of presidential candidates when they do campaigns and speeches. Why? Swing states vary over the years, but some have been quite consistent, such as Arizona, Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin, Colorado, and Nevada.
