SCA Romance Novel - Mixed Metaphors
http://mightyjesse.livejournal.com/134642.html
Nov 11th, 2010 at 10:09 AM. Oh, sweet mother of God. This book is bad on so many levels, and not just the normal bad romance novel levels either. She's managed to find entirely NEW NICHES OF GODAWFUL into which she may descend. There are just. no words. At least. Is "enjoying" this experience with me. Misery loves company, and at least this company is quite good. THERE IS A FUCKING CLOVEN FRUIT, and a bunch of people trying to speak forsoothly and not succeeding. Oh, the horror, the horror. I really don'...

Aged in Oaken Heroes: Heroic Fantasy & Imagined History - Mirror of Ambrose
http://jamesenge.livejournal.com/120941.html
Aged in Oaken Heroes: Heroic Fantasy and Imagined History - Mirror of Ambrose. Aged in Oaken Heroes: Heroic Fantasy and Imagined History. What is the proper setting for heroic fantasy? Sometimes it seems that the Heroic Age is like the Golden Age of Science Fiction: twelve (according to the now-elderly wisecrack. Anyway, it is widely agreed that heroic fantasy is set in some age before we learned that digital watches were a pretty neat idea. A period frequently described as the Middle Ages. Im not one of...

Sometimes the evil leaks out - Book of the Black Dog
http://cudubh.livejournal.com/235569.html
Book of the Black Dog. Sometimes the evil leaks out. Feb 24th, 2011 at 7:14 AM. So the other night, while my honey is watching NCIS, the initial murder victim was found to have been stretched on a rack. At the commercial I turned and asked my honey, "Is it wrong of me to want to know if they used a plank rack or wheel rack? The answer is apparently yes. It makes more sense to simply use what is in the system. Hey, they have tractor beams. "Guess what? I am sometimes a bad man. 11 comments Leave a comment.

http://ladymurmur.livejournal.com/165818.html
There is no such thing as too many books. October 25th, 2007. Was I the only person in the world who didn't know that they're making a live-action movie of Where The Wild Things Are. 2007-10-25 06:02 pm (UTC). I didn't know about it either, so that makes two of us. But then, I don't get out much these days ;-). 2007-10-25 06:16 pm (UTC). Cool It will be interesting to see how it turns out. Wyrdsmiths: Pixel-Stained Technopeasant Wyrdsmiths Stories!

Sunday, July 01, 2007. Pixel-Stained Technopeasant Wyrdsmiths Stories! Back in April of 2007, several of the Wyrdsmiths participated in International Pixel-Stained Technopeasant Day. We won't get into all of the hulabaloo here as to why. That day was so aptly named, other than to said there were a fair number of electrons whose primary duty that day was to carry conceptual picket lines in the collaborative form of a heck of a lot of stories. Wyrdsmiths: Eleanor Arnason Reading
http://wyrdsmiths.blogspot.com/2015/04/eleanor-arnason-reading.html
Tuesday, April 14, 2015. I am doing a reading at Dreamhaven books on Wednesday, April 22nd. The time is 6:30 pm. The address is 2301 East 38th Street, Minneapolis. I wouldn't mind some company. I'll be reading from the new collection, Hidden Folk. Of course. I plan to read "The Puffin Hunter," which is my current favorite of the stories. It really is nifty. Wyrdsmiths: Spring
http://wyrdsmiths.blogspot.com/2015/04/spring.html
Friday, April 24, 2015. We are having spring here. The grass is green. The trees are leafing out. I have seen flowers, and I am hearing new bird calls. Migratory birds are back, birds that warble and trill rather than going "chirp, chirp, chirp" like English sparrows. It snowed a couple of days ago, but there was no accumulation. The reading at Dreamhaven went well. All the chairs were filled, and I sold some books. Ruth Berman gave me a ride home, which was wonderful, and I am very grateful.

Wyrdsmiths: "Following" the Path to Success
http://wyrdsmiths.blogspot.com/2015/05/following-path-to-success.html
Thursday, May 14, 2015. Following" the Path to Success. Nothing that jumps to mind the way Asimov's, Analog, Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, Realms of Fantasy, Apex, Lightspeed, Clarkesworld, Strange Horizons, Tor.com, Uncanny Magazine, etc, etc., do for spec fic. Just looking through the list at ralan.com. Can be dizzying, because on top of the regularly published magazines, there's also anthologies, etc. So, I pointed my students to sfwa.org. And their page on manuscript formatting. And presum...

Wyrdsmiths: CONvergence
http://wyrdsmiths.blogspot.com/2015/05/convergence.html
Thursday, May 21, 2015. Mostly, decide what you want out of writing, and then use that as a measure. Do you want self-satisfaction, pro sales, critical acclaim, a cult following, vast fame, pots of money,? If you discover you can't get what you want, consider modifying your goals. Goals should be a stretch, but they shouldn't be impossible. Life is short, and writing is often difficult. Celebrate everything you can. I look forward to seeing you there. :).
