Aggie Days | Tails from the Hawk's Nest
https://tailsfromthehawksnest.wordpress.com/2012/03/08/aggie-days
Tails from the Hawk's Nest. The big adventures of one small driving horse. My name is Hawk, and I am a registered Miniature Horse. I am 9 years old, and 2012 is going to be my 6th Aggie Days! Miniature Horses have to be 34 inches and under, and I’m 33.5 inches, so I’m almost as big as I’m allowed to be. I’ve been a show horse since I was three years old, and have won lots of ribbons in halter classes. Which is like a beauty contest), jumping. And all sorts of driving classes. The first three days of Aggi...
The Mane Event | Tails from the Hawk's Nest

Tails from the Hawk's Nest. The big adventures of one small driving horse. Saturday morning I started out in the booth, which isn’t so bad at all. After the first year, when my back got sore standing in the stall with just shavings between me and pavement, Kendra and Charlene bought nice squishy mats to go under the stall, and now it’s a great place to hang out … and to curl up and have a nap because it’s so comfy! Did I mention the cookies? Best Cookies. Ever. I want to go FAST! I was happy to see them&...

Writer, horse lover, daydreamer …. Over at the Bettyverse Today! I haven’t been writing lately. And then, on Saturday night, there were northern lights. I know, the picture doesn’t look that spectacular, but they were. Spectacular. Best I’ve ever seen them, dancing across the sky for an hour, mostly green but with flashes of yellow and filling the whole northern sky and part of the east. Amazing. I thought about how I would describe the lights in a story, and how the lights could play a pivotal role.

Writer, horse lover, daydreamer …. Author Archives: Celeste Rupert. There are foxes under the chicken house again. This isn’t as dire as it sounds. Said chicken house has not actually housed chickens in many years. And baby foxes are awfully cute. The chicken house has tall, chain link runs behind it, and the kits are very comfortable playing there, feeling very safe even with people close by watching them. There are four this year, that I’ve seen at least, but just one that is very brave. And then, on S...

Living History | Kendra Gale

Writer, horse lover, daydreamer …. Waiting For The Chinook. Over at the Bettyverse Today! My brother recently spent a week in Cuba, and took lots of photos. It is a country that lives their history in front of them every day, with ancient forts, beautiful stone buildings from every era of their long history, and even antique cars everywhere you look – being a car guy, the vintage vehicles featured fairly prominently in my brother’s photographs. The history of Alberta isn’t nearly so obvious. Please take ...

Tails From the Hood. The blog of WAIF NOLA animal rescue. The season of giving. December 4, 2011. Gail and I continue to do our normal animal aid work but that isn’t what I want to write about this week. I want to talk about the Holiday time we are currently in. TAILS FROM THE HOUND POUND
March 28, 2006 - October 18, 2011. Good-bye Bruce. We miss you already. Sorry you had to leave so soon. We will always remember the happy and fun times we had together. You were a great companion and we were so proud to have you in our family. Rest in peace Bruce. We will always love you. Saturday was the third 5 Peak race, and in my mind it was the best one yet. Sundre only seemed to have one hill, but it was sure a fun one to run! The bagels I understand (I know how runners like their carbs), but how c...

Tails from the Kennel
Tails from the Kennel. Every tail has a tale. There was an error in this gadget. Thursday, August 13, 2015. In April, I decided that I needed to close the kennel for the summer, and possibly forever. In the second week of June, with no dogs, I started thinking about reopening. And I thought about it more. And more. I thought about it pretty much all the time. Why did I want to reopen when I was convinced that closing was the right thing to do? What was the difference? So there you have it. I wish I c...
Tails from the Lab
VIDEO: Heart of The Labs. Posted on: Tuesday, June 3, 2014. We truly love what we do for a living. At the center and heart of who we are as The Labs are three things: a love and appreciation for companion animals and their people, to be of service and give back to our community and to have fun in our professional lives. These three things go hand in hand with one another, and the balance of the three inspire us to create work we are proud of and have a great time producing. This gorgeous film is the resu...
