Teaching/Speaking Schedule 2016 - 2017. 2016 - 2018 Class Offerings. Friday, May 8, 2015. The Magic of Five Days. I'm pretty excited about the five-day class concept and I'll be teaching Composing With Line again in this format this August at Madeline Island School for the Arts. MISA, short for Madeline Island School of the arts is on Madeline Island, the largest of the 22 Apostle Islands in Lake Superior. It looks to me like it's definitely worth the trip. Thats a lot of water for a prairie girl! It was...

tallgrass prairie studio: Quilter's Butt and an Improv Challenge
http://tallgrassprairiestudio.blogspot.com/2010/07/quilters-butt-and-improv-challenge.html
Teaching/Speaking Schedule 2016 - 2017. 2016 - 2018 Class Offerings. Monday, July 26, 2010. Quilter's Butt and an Improv Challenge. And I met on the internet and we initially connected trying to motivate each other to exercise. We know that exercise and healthy living will allow us to be more productive quilters and in the end isn't that what it's all about? We want to quilt longer and harder, so we need to be in shape. Was visiting Kansas last month she suggested I join this government site. To join in,...

And excitedly bought her book in my desire to make improvised log cabin blocks and to my surprise finding only patterns rather than a path to improvisation. A few weeks ago I was reading Kim's post. I struggled on my own and figured out my own way to do a wonky log cabin. Denyse's book put me on the road to striking out on my own. I'm ...Tonya...
tallgrass prairie studio: Hang Your Quilt! (Hanging Sleeve Tutorial)
http://tallgrassprairiestudio.blogspot.com/2012/02/hang-your-quilt-hanging-sleeve-tutorial.html
Teaching/Speaking Schedule 2016 - 2017. 2016 - 2018 Class Offerings. Saturday, February 4, 2012. This is how I make mine. This tutorial makes a 4" finished D sleeve. Start by measuring the width of your quilt. Cut a strip 8 1/2" wide by the exact width measurement of your quilt. Depending on the width of your quilt, you may have to piece multiple strips to achieve that measurement. Fold the strip in half lengthwise wrong sides together. And press to create a center fold. Position the sleeve 1/2" to 3/4" ...

Stitching Around: Knitting thru March
http://stitchingaround.blogspot.com/2012/03/knitting-thru-march.html
Wednesday, March 14, 2012. The Retro Rib socks are done. I watched a video over and over to learn the Kitchener stitch to close the toes. Now, it's easy. I was totally lost at first! The yarn was wonderful to work with, definitely a new favorite. And there's been more color added to the blanket, but I still love the blue and yellow the best. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). calicodaisy: calicodaisy on the porch!
http://calicodaisy.blogspot.com/2013/03/calicodaisy-on-porch.html
Monday, March 11, 2013. Calicodaisy on the porch! Just in time for new spring decor, there's an outdoor fabrics option at the calicodaisy shop. Both with and without embroidery. The range of outdoor fabrics is nearly as marvelous as inside home decor. Shown here is the classic calicodaisy look in solid shades of outdoor canvas. Due to marvelous sales this early 2013 and the need for a good spring cleaning around the house and studio, the calicodaisy shop. Is on hiatus this week until Thursday or Friday&#...

Friday, February 22, 2013. And now she knits. Small dream come true! This gal's got her gauge on! Previous to these blogging years, I was completely satisfied being very good with the crochet hook and believed my gauge was just too tight to knit well. How times change! As usual, one project isn't enough, so I searched around Ravelry. And have so many favorites but decided on this. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. And now she knits. Stitching Around: December 2011
http://stitchingaround.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 18, 2011. Friday, December 2, 2011. Here are eight of the cotton mini stockings, a fun little project, each about 5". The red isn't as bright as it appears, it's more like the color of tomato soup. Adding bands of seed stitch, like the green stocking with the white toe and heel, distorted the shape. The red candy cane stripes knitted into the white stocking, bottom right, got misplaced during the stitch decreases. I made two more washcloths in between. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
a stitch in dye: The Fruits of my Labor
http://stitchindye.blogspot.com/2009/04/fruits-of-my-labor.html
Friday, April 3, 2009. The Fruits of my Labor. Two different kinds of fruit, two different labors, and two distinctly different results. First there's this kind:. Key lime cookies with homemade key lime curd. Go ahead. The appropriate response is yummmm. I used recipes I found here. The curd recipe is for lemon curd, but I figured substituting limes wouldn't be a big deal. The second fruit, a pepper, went into another kind of recipe. I Love Baby Quilts! Wow, you're so good! Teaching/Speaking Schedule 2014 - 2016. Tuesday, July 14, 2015. I got home from Sisters, Oregon after teaching for a week at Quilters' Affair and enjoying the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show. I was able to sneak in a little hiking in the mountains with my husband in addition to all the quilty things to do. More of the Best of QuiltCon! Is one of the premier places ...
