I’m Like a Sponge. August 9, 2015 · 5:57 pm. A Love Letter to August. July is dead to me; August is my new love. Ahhh, but August! The skies are a crystal blue like a baby’s clear gaze and the air has an underlying sweet scent to it. The leaves are happily tossing about, the grass looks like grass again instead of wheat, and the gardens are looking like gardens instead of scenes from a scary movie. And the birds! I’ve even stirred myself a bit this August:. Oh, the colors…. Who you calling a big ox?

One day after discussing with my neighbor that I don’t get seasonal allergies, that I’m susceptible to allergy attacks all year, I get a whopper of one. I woke up sneezing at 5:45 am Who does that? How does that even happen? How do you go from being sound asleep in a delicious cycle and then suddenly “achoo! 8221;-ing loud enough to scare the birds? And what’s with the sneezing straight for 10 minutes? Radio silence for two weeks.

In many ways, I absorb a lot whether it’s by reading, observation, listening, poking about where I don’t belong, osmosis, or my other superpowers. Vividly recalling the memories I do is like watching a beloved rerun and losing myself in the memories of that time. Of course, that means the brainsponge has limited capacity to absorb anything new. So when I ask the Daughters what their plans are for that day and they shoot each other.
