TEACHING IN MALAWI

The adventures of a missionary gal living, teaching, and serving in Africa. DONATION F.A.Q. This past Easter break I hiked Mount Mulanje in southern Malawi and it was AWESOME! Heading south on a bus Dani (left) and Cara (right). Optimistic and excited. Classic "before the hike" pose. To start the hike we needed to cross this. A view from the top of the plateau. Often spotted along the trail: me resting. A common bridge, not too high off the ground. Very slippery. What I thought our "hut" accommodation was.

TEACHING IN MALAWI: DONATION F.A.Q.

http://teachinginmalawi.blogspot.com/p/donation-faq.html

The adventures of a missionary gal living, teaching, and serving in Africa. DONATION F.A.Q. DONATION F.A.Q. What are DONATIONS for? How much support are you raising? Currently, the amount of support to be raised comes to a minimum of $1200.00/month. You might think that providing $20 a month or a $20 special gift doesn't make a difference but IT DOES! All Gifts are even TAX-DEDUCTABLE. How much of your support goes towards administrative costs? Is my donation tax-deductible? This is an option that is gre...

TEACHING IN MALAWI: Feeding The Orphans?

http://teachinginmalawi.blogspot.com/2010/09/feeding-orphans.html

The adventures of a missionary gal living, teaching, and serving in Africa. DONATION F.A.Q. Recently, I went and fed the kiddos at the Ministry of Hope Crisis Nursery. Currently, there are about 20 babies from infancy to two years old. I think they all look to be about 6 months old (mostly due to malnutrition) but they really do range in age. Most of the kids are orphans but some have been removed from families that were not properly caring for them. Carson and Melissa playing with 20 not crying babies.

TEACHING IN MALAWI: SUPPORT REPORTS

http://teachinginmalawi.blogspot.com/p/support-reports.html

The adventures of a missionary gal living, teaching, and serving in Africa. DONATION F.A.Q. Once a month, I'll be updating this page with my support raising income results. It's been quite the journey towards becoming a fully supported missionary ($1250/month). God really is amazing! I've learned far more through this journey of endurance than I would have if I had been fully funded early on. My hope is that you read this and be encouraged. August 2010 - Begin teaching at ABCCA. TEACHING IN MALAWI: You know you're still a tourist when . . .

http://teachinginmalawi.blogspot.com/2012/06/you-know-youre-still-tourist-when.html

The adventures of a missionary gal living, teaching, and serving in Africa. DONATION F.A.Q. You know you're still a tourist when . . . If you live in Malawi long enough, you'll probably have a snake in your house. I thought I might have by passed this life experience, much like avoiding malaria. Knock on wood), but no such luck. Even after having lived in Malawi for almost two years, I am still a tourist. How do I know? You might be a tourist if YOU FILM THE SNAKE YOU CAUGHT IN YOUR BATHTUB BEFORE YOU.
