Teaching the Three Rs

Teaching the Three Rs. Friday, December 12, 2014. From NASA to NASCAR. My husband became eligible for early retirement from NASA a year ago, and so he's been looking into possible other jobs for a while now. Neither of us are too fond of Houston summers, hurricanes, or the flatness. We knew we didn't want to live here forever, so when the government started offering "early outs" for which he was eligible, we decided it might be the right time for us to leave. Got to go – more books to pack! She had wante...

Teaching the Three Rs: Resistant Students

http://teachingthe3rs.blogspot.com/2014/08/resistant-students.html

Teaching the Three Rs. Wednesday, August 27, 2014. This past Monday, we started up with our full load for this school year. I had already started the full load with my younger two a couple weeks ago. But now we're doing the full load with my 4th grader too. And it has been a difficult week. Is it only Wednesday still? Your new school year may be starting out tough too, but try to find the high points, no matter how rare. It will get better. Just keep at it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Well, neither – it was a shower tile. Father, please grant me the ability to see simple truth, and not try to make mysteries out of everything!

Teaching the Three Rs. Saturday, January 11, 2014. A mailing list I follow had some recent questions and discussion about visual-spatial learners. I've heard of the term before, though I had never read much about it. The recent discussion seemed to have some relevance to my children, though, so I did a search on the term and found some interesting articles. This article ( http:/ www.dyslexia.com/library/silver1.htm. This article ( http:/ www.gifteddevelopment.com/Visual Spatial Learner/vsl.htm. I began h...

Teaching the Alphabet

Wednesday, June 13, 2012. D is for Daisy. Addy was being a little restless today so I decided that we needed to do some fun activities.
