Lions in Winter | Tea Garden
http://teagarden.ako.net.nz/2007/06/01/lions-in-winter
There's always something to do. Book and gift shop. June 1, 2007. Irises. I find visiting the cemeteries useful because generally they’re forgotten, and the species that manage to survive and thrive are going to do the same in the Tea Garden. A number of the other irises. Have set their big, bright red/orange seed capsules. I’ve never tried growing iris from seed before and if they’ve cross pollinated I might get some interesting variations. List of things to do for June:. Plant garlic on the shortest day.

There's always something to do. Book and gift shop. Austin in Autumn (or Spring). January 23, 2008. Having just returned from Austin, Texas I can thoroughly endorse the hospitality of the people of Austin. True, we did get into trouble, regularly, by taking photos, but hey – we’re tourists, that’s our job! Which lead to us organising and running Blog Hui. Hedging, my bets. January 24th, 2008. Thanks for setting up the link! I hope to get there in April! January 24th, 2008. Hello Layanee – yes, it&#...

hedging, my bets | Tea Garden
http://teagarden.ako.net.nz/2008/02/10/hedging-my-bets
There's always something to do. Book and gift shop. Hedging, my bets. February 10, 2008. Would I be interested in swapping paving slabs and recycled bricks for firewood? How many nano-seconds to make that decision? Flies – I frequently hear the native parrots while I’m working outside. The shrubs will continue to self-seed, and so replacement hedging will continue to come through. Austin in Autumn (or Spring). February 19th, 2008. I hope you’ll continue to post… I love the name of your blog!

I haven’t written here for ages – a) the winter (see also: rainrainrain), b) travel and travail, c) life’s been busier than usual. Musings of a Kentucky Gardener: A Big Daffodil Thank You to the Blotanical Readers!!
http://kentuckygardener.blogspot.com/2008/05/big-daffodil-thank-you-to-blotanical.html
Saturday, May 24, 2008. A Big Daffodil Thank You to the Blotanical Readers! As I promised, May would be a much better blogging month for me. Classes ended about two weeks ago and I wanted to get started right away with some intro posts about the rose garden since I am a huge fan of growing antique roses. I was just sitting down this morning to blog about the Kentucky Herb Festival from last weekend, when I decided to do some poking around. It all started with. Ironically, this daffodil is the only daffod...
Musings of a Kentucky Gardener: April 2008

Saturday, April 5, 2008. This was their first appearance in early March just as the snow was melting. (see previous post for exact date). The next two photos demonstrate the bud formation just as they are beginning to open.note the strong green appearnce. This looks like a very angry bud to me. The curling green around this bud is a wild onion.evidence of my needing to weed. And yes, growing right alongside our Easter Bonnets with no crossing effects. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Musings of a Kentucky Gardener: April 2010
http://kentuckygardener.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 18, 2010. Cherry Blossom Festival at Yuko-En. Last weekend (the 17th-18th), Georgetown Kentucky played host to a couple of wonderful cultural events. Both events were related to each other, held in adjoining venues, but separate in scope. The first event that usually draws more attention from those with families is the annual. The architectural elements continue once inside the garden. This large multi-purpose building was recently completed within the past few years, but has played hos...

Friday, October 16, 2009. Peonies and Pondering the Past. For those of you who have kept up with my blog in the past, I apologize for the year long hiatus from posting. Life just became way too hectic to keep up posting with the seasons, so hopefully I can fit this into my schedule.balance is my new mantra, so we'll see if that helps any. I suspect my elusive 4th great grandparents could be in this cemetery, but I still have not found confirmation, even though a teenage son as well as a grown son and ent...

Musings of a Kentucky Gardener: Kentucky Herb Festival 2008
http://kentuckygardener.blogspot.com/2008/05/kentucky-herb-festival-2008.html
Saturday, May 24, 2008. Kentucky Herb Festival 2008. Since our move to Kentucky about 15 years ago, we have made the. In Frankfort an annual tradition. It is not a large festival, but quaint and just big enough to take up about half of the day allowing the rest of the day to get home and plant what was bought! The day begins with a stop at the Herb Fest located in the farm buildings of Lakeview Park which overlooks a golf course and nice size lake. Now for a few tasty morsels from this year's festival:.

Musings of a Kentucky Gardener: May 2010
http://kentuckygardener.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 29, 2010. Pocket Full of Memories. I was poking around my desk, looking for a certain pen, when I brushed past a little artifact that made me smile. You know those little odds and ends that you just can't throw away, and end up planted in the back of your desk drawer due to months of neglect? I was very lucky this little tidbit didn't sprout itself as it hid there. What looks like a little wadded up piece of fabric is actually a farming family's piece of ingenuity.
