It was looking for a quiet place to die. Unfortunately it decided to die at the height of the silly summer season. This is a temporary site. A fine WordPress.com site. A walk on the wild side. This is an odd Summer. After the mild Winter everything was bursting with life. Then the weather became cold and nasty and it was as if nature was in suspended animation waiting for the curtain to rise on the real Summer. Recently we have had the full weather spectrum with winds and rain pulling the heads off full blooming flowers and tossing the petals about on the grass. Some photos from the “Walk on the Wild Side”.

This is a temporary site. A fine WordPress.com site. Where do you go when the weather is suitable for ducks – to Slimbridge, in Glouchestershire, of course? Slimbridge was founded in 1946, by the naturalist the late Sir Peter Scott and his photographer wife, Phillipa. It has been on my “visit” wish list for a long time. Last week my wish came true. My knowledge of ducks, geese and water fowl resembles a duck down duvet, it’s a bit muddled. So I’ll show you what I learned. Black bellied whistling duck.
