Living in a Changing World. Sometimes Things Don’t Go As Planned →. What Are You Reading? September 6, 2016. Last week I was sitting in the waiting area at my hair salon with a young girl and her mother. The girl had a book with her and I was straining to see the title. Before I could invade their space completely, a conversation started. Me: Sorry, but I’m interested in knowing what you are reading. Me: Oh, Sharon Creech! I love her work. What are you reading? I actually just finished Barbara O’Connor’s.

Did they care that my friends came over on a regular basis – eating and drinking and staying into the wee hours of the morning? I doubt it. But I am now the parent of two teenaged kids and I now know the brilliance of my parents’ plan – they knew who I was with and they knew where I was. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. My own learning life journal. Building students stamina is something that I have been pondering a lot these past few weeks. As the teachers in my district move to the Workshop model for teaching reading and writing, we need to build our students’ stamina for reading and writing. I am also realizing that teachers need to build their own stamina as well. Perhaps that is where we should start. Are you reading for 30-40 minutes at a time? Are you writing for 30-40 minutes at a time? April 12, 2016. I think i...

He is a planner, so he booked the trip long ago. The day he leaves I will board another plane to visit my older son in Korea for a few days and have another Christmas with him...

As I See It. The Wild Birthday Ride. It’s all in the translation… →. May 12, 2015. As a grown woman, one of the things that I treasure most in life is the friendship of my girlfriends.
