Love My Art Jewelry: First attempt at making a silver sheet ingot
http://lovemyartjewelry.blogspot.com/2015/08/first-attempt-at-making-silver-sheet.html
Wednesday, August 5, 2015. First attempt at making a silver sheet ingot. I've wanted to melt my silver into sheet ingots for rolling for awhile now, but honestly, I was too nervous. I had visions of it spilling and melting a hole in my toe! But I started thinking it's time. Time to do something with all the scraps I've accumulated and put them to use. So, with my husband taking pictures (making sure I don't burn the house down) I melted my first ingot yesterday! And for this project I used the #3 tip.

Love My Art Jewelry: ABOUT
http://lovemyartjewelry.blogspot.com/p/our-mission.html
CREATING HANDMADE WITH HANDMADE. Components and jewelry created from raw materials are entirely at the mercy of the art-maker (but the art-maker is also at the mercy of them). To even begin a piece, one must choose from a myriad number of options and narrow them down, then focus their energy. These energies - the physical and intellectual (both right and left brain) - get channeled into the work. The effect can be powerful. Take the time today to notice the difference when created handmade with handmade.

Love My Art Jewelry: Just a Thought....by Karen McGovern

Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Just a Thought.by Karen McGovern. If you are at all keyed in to the online arts and crafts world, either as a creator or a collector, you know the epic, fit for the big screen story of the rise of Etsy. Notice I said I “suspended” my shop. Did I close it? No I wrote a huge, heartfelt message on my home page explaining why I thought Etsy was betraying its original artists and suspended all my listings. Why didn’t I close my shop? Maybe I’ve been thinking a lot about this. What if we...

Love My Art Jewelry: How I Set a Tube Rivet
http://lovemyartjewelry.blogspot.com/2015/05/how-i-set-tube-rivet.html
Monday, May 18, 2015. How I Set a Tube Rivet. Written by Patti Vanderbloemen for Love My Art Jewelry. I had an idea to create a pair of hoop earrings from copper sheet. I drew a rough sketch and cut out my shapes. This is when I realized the music in my studio must have been too loud (or my singing was too loud) .3 1/2" length does not an earring make.but it would make a pendant. As I got closer to the correct hole size, I switched to using a round and half round needle file around the edges to enlarge t...

Love My Art Jewelry: There has been a death in my tool family.....
http://lovemyartjewelry.blogspot.com/2015/08/there-has-been-death-in-my-tool-family.html
Monday, August 3, 2015. There has been a death in my tool family. Written by Patti Vanderbloemen for Love My Art Jewelry. I have always been careful with my tools. I am convinced I have a bit of OCD. I actually clean my studio (well, clean is a relative term - I put my tools away) after every single work session. That does not mean my studio is clean, but I cannot work without my tools, and if I am in the middle of something and cannot find one.I go a little ape! I still used them when twisting wire, but...

Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Confessions from the Oven. By Staci Louise Smith. Well, I am in full on, all day all night, prep for Bead Fest. Right now it is polymer clay on my work table. However, this post is not about my panic, or the hundreds and hundreds of beads that still need to be made and painted, or the class I still need to assemble kits for and prepare. Nope, this is about something else. Https:/ www....
