Scootin' Fool: October 2014
http://scootinfool.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 7, 2014. Just a few short weeks ago, the jag was at Steffy's Garage. For a loose nut on the lower ball joint. As always, there's a reason these things happen. The following Monday, she went back to the shop since it felt the same as it had before. The mechanics went over it and found that the lower control arm was worn around the post for the joint, so they mended that as well. Yesterday, on the way to take the kid to work, this happened:. Steffy's contacted the vendor, who agreed that t...

Scootin' Fool: January 2015
http://scootinfool.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 24, 2015. Those old forgotten roads. I used to hate driving. Nearly seven years ago, a little red scooter offered an alternative. Five months later, a silver Kymco added more joy to the idea of vehicular excursions. Riding a scooter was unlike driving any car I'd ever sat in. That's changed a bit. Turns out I was driving the wrong cars. A vehicle that hugs the road is loads of fun. A pleasant interior, good suspension, and a decent power to weight ratio makes a world of difference.

Scootin' Fool: August 2013
http://scootinfool.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 30, 2013. I feel so ashamed! I started a new role at work this week. I'm serving as a chauffeur and companion for a developmentally disabled gentleman. This morning, I had my first opportunity to drive him around in the car that is designated for his use. Yes, it's a Prius C. I gradually found myself liking this little piece of machinery with its off-center instrument panel and quiet little engine. It still felt unnatural, but it had wooed me with its fiendish tricks. It was a battery cove...

Scootin' Fool: September 2014
http://scootinfool.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 24, 2014. A little junk in my trunk. Well, the Jag's being silly again. Do you remember those comedy gags where cause and effect don't match up; like when a drawer is closed on a bureau and a different drawer opens on its own? Well, the Jag thinks it is a comedian. You kinda have to see it for yourself to get the full giggle out of it. So, yeah. Penelope's British. She walks to the beat of a different drummer. Monday, September 15, 2014. A bolt and a belt. The above is a picture of t...

Scootin' Fool: The lighthearted side of life
http://scootinfool.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-lighthearted-side-of-life.html
Monday, August 10, 2015. The lighthearted side of life. There are disadvantages to being in the minority. Sometimes it's hard to get respect, to even get noticed. People don't always take those in the minority as seriously as they do those in a majority. But here's the beauty of it: When you're quirky and goofy, you get noticed. For those of us who ride on two or three wheels, That's a good thing. Granted, I don't always have Maggie with me, but even with just Rowlf, I've seen people take a secon...On my...

Scootin' Fool: July 2015
http://scootinfool.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 30, 2015. From the outside, the Leaf presents itself differently depending on the viewing angle. From the front, it's not too bad until you get a good look at the headlights. From the back though, it's just plain freaky looking. I know a lot of the quirkyness of the looks comes down to aerodynamics, but it just doesn't tickle my artsy side. The brakes were very good, even with 26,000 miles on them. They were more grabby than in most vehicles, probably due in part to regenerative braking.

Scootin' Fool: May 2014
http://scootinfool.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 30, 2014. Its been a while. I know I've not written anything in this space in quite some time. Today I'll change that, at least for the next week or so. I'm going to do it again. I'm off on another scooter trek. Tomorrow I'll be heading north from Lancaster to the tiny burgh of Castile, New York. I'll meetmy wife and son there for a visit with her ailing grandmother. Here's to the open road and a corner or two to make it interesting. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Its been a while. I hadn't inte...

Scootin' Fool: Laid up
http://scootinfool.blogspot.com/2015/08/laid-up.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. I can tell you, I'd rather be working, but today, today I decided I'd had enough and I took a little scooter ride to my third physical therapy appointment. Boy oh boy was I excited! The ride was uneventful, but I could feel that a prolonged ride wasn't going to be a picnic. I went in to my PT appointment for my impending beating, then put my helmet back on and rode over to Lancaster Honda. In any even, the Silver Streak passed inspection without any issues. Happiness this is&#...

Scootin' Fool: June 2014
http://scootinfool.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 26, 2014. Gone to the dogs. There are disadvantages to having a small dog. One receives insults for not having a "real man's dog." One doesn't feel quite as secure when walking down a dark alley.while walking a shih tzu. Hunting is somewhat out of the question, since a small dog has, what one man at church referred to as "a low wheel base.". We don't have a doggy helmet as, from what I've read, the jury is still out on whether they even are necessary. To sum up, a small dog is a lot of fun...
